We moved to a SC from Indiana. I planted cana. Dahlias and glads last year here in SC. I wasn't expecting any of them to come up but surprise, they did. Now I know why. Our cana even exploded with babies. We gave numerous cromes away. They were all happy to get them and said they were expensive to buy.

Thanks for the videos, you are amazing. I'm a new outdoor gardener and learning. I have tons of indoor plants and 30 orchids...all thrive. Not sure how I'll do with the outdoor plants.

My red cannas, kept in the ground, have come back for 29 years in zone 5a. They are planted right next to the foundation/basement wall on the south side and east side of my house. I also cover them with mulch in the fall.

That is awesome. I have had very spotty luck with my cannas left in the ground...I usually loose them more to soggy wetness with not good enough drainage than cold...you are very fortunate that those come up every year....isn't mother nature amazing!!!

I did this to my blue hostas last week. Can't wait for my last frost date to transplant them. 2 days ago it was in the 40s and I planted 13 liatris corms. Today it's in the 20..will they survive? I'm in Chicago.

The liatris should be ok.....keep an eye on them. I have planted liatris in the spring and in the fall to let them go through a cold period and they always come up. If the tips of the hostas were up there could be some nipping, but they are probably fine. Perennials are pretty forgiving and hardy.

You skipped what happens in zone 9 with liatris. Meaning I don't know if I'm supposed to take the bulb out or if it will come back on it's own. Sadly not everyone watching is a seasoned gardener...... Now I do appreciate the video I just wish it was complete in each part. some of us are truly lost
