Description Source:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ms._Pac-Man
Ms. Pac-Man is an arcade video game produced by Midway as an unauthorized sequel to Pac-Man. It was released in North America in 1981 and became one of the most popular video games of all time, leading to its adoption by Pac-Man licensor Namco as an official title. This game introduces a female protagonist, new maze designs and several minor gameplay changes over the original game.
Gameplay:
The gameplay of Ms. Pac-Man is largely identical to that of the original Pac-Man. The player gathers points by eating dots and avoiding ghosts (contact with one loses a life). Power-pellets or energizers change the ghosts, which reverse their course and can be eaten for bonus points. Fruit bonuses can be consumed for increasing point values, twice per level. As the levels increase, the speed and difficulty increase as well.
There are, however, some notable differences:
The game has four different mazes that appear in different sets of colors.
Most of the new mazes have two sets of warp tunnels.
Unlike the original Pac-Man, the spaces in between the walls are filled in, making it easier to see where the path is.
The ghosts' behavior patterns are different and include semi-random movement, precluding the use of patterns to beat each level.
Instead of appearing in the center of the maze, fruits bounce around the maze, entering and leaving through the warp tunnels. Once all fruits have been encountered, they appear in random sequence for the rest of the game.
The orange ghost's name is Sue instead of Clyde.
The three intermissions have changed to follow the developing relationship between Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man (from when they first meet to having a stork drop off their baby).
The sound effects and music of the game are very different from the Pac-Man sounds.
As in Pac-Man, the game has a bug in the subroutine that draws the fruit, which renders the 256th level unplayable. However, the game also has other bugs that cause it to crash or become unplayable much sooner, making it impossible to reach the 256th level without an emulator.[1]

@@pajamamar2011 Rumor has it that Coleco, the game company responsible for the Atari 2600 versions of "Donkey Kong" and "Donkey Kong Jr.", purposely made the ports of both games ugly as a way of showcasing the Colecovision as a better console to play the games on.
Thre was just something about the Atari 2600 version of Ms. Pacman that just great . It was like it's own game, I don't know how else to explain it. Just loved it and still do. Then the Atari 7800 knocked it out of the Park in terms of being very close to the arcade.
Ms. Pac certainly had a much better trip to the home screens than Pac did.
Ms. Pac-Man sounds like she's drinking something while munching on dots in the Apple 2 version of the game.
Fun Fact: There is a 2nd version of "Ms. Pacman" in "Pacman 2: The New Adventures" if you put MSPCMND in the password screen.

The 7800 version and 2600 versions were done by GCC, the makers of the arcade version adopted by Bally/Midway and eventually Namco. I highly recommend finding the GCC panel podcast if you want to know more of history of Ms. Pac Man, and the Atari 7800 which they designed. If it's not on KZread I'll upload it.
The sounds for the TI-99 are quite tranquil.
Wow...the Colecovision *NAILED* the sound, something no other system did for years! That's crazy! Spent the most time with the Atari 2600, Commodore 64, and NES versions. Good times.

As far as the console ports go, the 7800 was most true to the arcade in terms of sound, look, and quality. I dare say it is better than the SNES version.

Derek Logue Visually, you’re technically right. The SNES version adds a “16-Bit” look to the game, which was clearly not what the arcade version looked like. Sonically, I’d have to disagree. The SNES version sounds near identical to the arcade version.

Ms pac-man snes is the best because is so good perfect sound and Graphics
It’s crazy how close Ms. Pac-Man on the SNES sounds to the arcade version. Plus it has the graphical update, a difficulty selection, and a turbo speed button. It very well could have been the definitive version of the game. The things that hold it back are not being able to view the whole maze on the screen at once, and the music when the two Pacs meet being slightly different. Side Note: What the hell is with the ghosts on the Master System?

Is like ms pac-man snes
What a great video :)
I've played numerous. I own numerous atm, and while I like having access to one of the arcade ports (Namco versions), my favorite ones are the Tengen ones. I wouldn't consider them to be of the most precise ports, but I grew up on a copy of the SNES one and a nearby arcade machine version. The NES one is basically that one but in 8 Bit, and if you wanna get extra unique, the Master System one is like that one as well, but they sort of look like puppets. Owning several copies of them might be a bit redundant to most (as well as owning Pac Man copies etc.) But if you own a Namco owned one, the Genesis one (of which I own a copy of now)/SNES one/NES Tengen one as well as the Master System copy, you're really going to be getting different experiences for sure.
Apple 2, MS dos (assuming it's using pc speaker), and spectrum (assuming it's not 128K) actually sound pretty good for what they have. Samples on the lynx version sound so low quality (at the couldn't surely be that low quality).

Namco made an NES version. But it was made to fit a standard television at the time. Tengen was not licensed to produce games for the NES because of licensing restrictions. So Tengen was free to produce any game they wanted to without restrictions. The Tengen version is considered by most to be the superior version. I agree.

+wingnut4427 Actually, in its hi-res mode, which uses NTSC artifacting, there are 6 colors, including black and white, with some restrictions. The resolution is 140x192. More specifically, every group of 3.5 pixels horizontally and 1 vertically can have black, white, and your choice of 2 other colors, either purple and green or blue and orange. Yes, 3.5 because each pixel's color is specified by 2 bits, and 1 of every 7 is split between 2 consecutive bytes. 2 * 7 is 14 bits, which leaves 2 bits from those 2 bytes to specify which sets of colors to use, with the first affecting the left half (3.5 pixels) and the second affecting the right half. As long as these 2 bits are the same, then you'll get the colors you'd expect for that split pixel, but if they're different then you might end up with a different color altogether, like yellow in some cases. I wouldn't count these strange artifacts as additional colors, though, because they are so limited in how they can be used. The Apple II also has a low-resolution mode (40x48 pixels max) that allows you to choose from a palette of 16 colors for each pixel individually. Because the resolution is so low, however, this mode is rarely ever used.
2600 version was amazing st the time and still plays like a dream. Apple II has that wonderfully creepy audio. C64 has the legendary CID audio that upstages the Atari 800 (smart move, Atari). Lynx looks terrible and chugs at half-speed, I always hated it. Genesis and Super NES have the definitive home versions. Best home version I’ve played was the indie/homebrew Pac-Man Collection on Atari 7800, the POKEY edition.
