My pet Tarantula ( Boris) would love to be in there !
The vibe of that room would be a comedians worst nightmare.

You are Wlecome!
I don’t think they can produce 50%-100% more yield with egg laying containers which not covered with metal screen. The crickets will dig and eat all the eggs. I know, I did the same wrong setup.
The males produce that Sound by rubbing their wings together not their legs

That is came to my mind too. No any grasshopper, cricket, etc. type of insect rubbing their legs to produce sound. It would be impossible because their legs are the two opposite side of their body.:)) They always making sound using their wings ( crickets) or wings and legs combo ( grasshoppers ). Put it straight, wings are always used, legs sometimes.
We are two local guys from the West Texas area and are very interested in becoming a cricket producer, wether it be live, froze ect. We are so serious that we have become a LLC under our soon to be company. We are anchoring the rest of our paperwork so we can get going. We are very excited and we will be even more ecstatic if we could get sum feed back, pointers and or any mentoring that y’all could share with us. We love what y’all are doing. Hope to hear back soon.. there’s so much to talk about!! Thank you.

Can we have enough mass production to use crickets as source of protein in Fish feed instead of Soya bean and Fish meal?

..or skipping the middle man, and just consuming the crickets straight away?

Good question. I think it is a case of demand, if there is will.
He said they rub their back feet to make noise NOT TRUE they rub the base of their wings together to make chirping noise.......
คิดว่าเลี้ยงแต่เมืองไทย ต่างประเทศ ก็เลี้ยงได้ด้วยหรือ เขาชอบอากาศค่อนข้างร้อนน่ะ
Hello. Have a nice day. What type of cricket are you raising?

anyone know what is the specific food he feeds his crickets?
Can I ask a question, What is proper temperature for them, and why using egg crates?
@mregokillinshiz
3 жыл бұрын
About 30-35°C is a good temperature to help with the rapid growth. & egg trays provide a nice habitat that crickets like to hide in and regulate their own temperature as well.

For human or animal consumption. Believe it or not insect based food is becoming more and more popular around the world, they are doing flour or oil from them and many other things. Also various kinds of animals eat insects, anything from fish, birds, small mammals, rodents or reptiles are partially or exclusively insectivores, as a hobby I breed leopard geckos, in peak of the season when I have 80-120 babies plus 30 adults im going through easy 500-1000 crickets a day. Wild caught insects are no good as they are carrying parasites so you need to have cricket farms like this where what we call live food is produced in sterile conditions without parasites or diseases.

Thank you for your comment! Yes, it is becoming very popular and here in Finland there is a lot of different types of products using insect based protein.

Cricket powder..
Really? The guy running the place says they make the chirping noise by “rubbing their legs together”? Well, that’s false, and I probably wouldn’t believe another thing he said after that.
