Jennifer, your designs and ideas are unlike anything else out there. As far as I’m concerned you are a creative genius and I’ve been amazed by your generosity over the years. As you mentioned you give so much and so much of yourself for free. You deserve as much support as those of us who benefit from your creativity can afford to give. I’m in! ❤

I love these "sit & linger" chats! I think some of the unfavorable thoughts are coming from people who do not like change. Change is a part of life. You have to think about what is best for you and your life. Your passion comes across so strongly! I appreciate all you do. Have you thought about doing additional projects with your older templates? There are several examples of the basically amazing but only one or two examples of your other templates. Just a thought. I will continue to support you and your creativity in any way I can!

I’m in love with your templates, ideas, albums and everything you have made. You should get paid for the time you spend working and absolutely not work for free. I enjoy watching every video you make for us. Even if you decide to charge for your videos, I would gladly pay for them. I’m so thankful I found your KZread channel.

Jen, I love what you do and wait for a tutorial to come out. I’m glad to still have that. What you want to do sounds a lot like Patreon where there are different levels of additional content and monthly membership fees. I’ve seen 3.00 to 25.00. Different things are included for each tier. Many content creators have this and it seems to work fine. Those who want extra content can choose what level they can afford. I think you have to decide what you want to include for each tier and take it from there. Maybe start with one or two and take it from there. Wishing you luck and giving my support ❤

My two cents worth is to keep it simple for yourself and us. A monthly membership that isn’t outrageously priced. Having different levels would mean more extra work to provide even more extra content. Then when you are working on your next set of templates and aren’t producing videos as often there would be additional pressure for you to provide for the different levels of membership. You are the most important person for your business and channel. So you need to do what you think is best for you, without creating burnout. 😊

Have you given thought to Patreon, charge a small monthly fee like $10 dollars and post those big extra stepped up videos there. I know I pay that for Lisa Pays Masterclass but thats sewing lol. Think about it may be better then youtube.

Personally I love this idea. If it’s a step up, what about taping in on your wonderful creativity leaning towards the “extras”. Such as way back when, when you were teaching us to paint pumpkins?! Just a thought ♥️ all you do for us Jen♥️♥️

I think the KZread idea is the best, not so much as an Etsy purchase. I don’t know it essentially would be the same. But I love KZread. I think it’s about time. You have given yourself for so many years and you deserve it. As I delve a bit more into mine, I have to say ideas and different things, editing and such is a ton of work. Some people may not understand the things you do to even get ready to make a video. It’s a lot. Your people are so kind they will follow. Jennifer, I am pretty much new in this making but a template designer like you are I haven't enjoyed the same as I do when watching all the ideas you have with yours templates. I have bought almost them all and I love them!!! Whatever you decide to do I will follow with the membership. I have learned to "make", to "match", to "create", even to how to use magnets in album or journal making that I am so grateful for the time and much more you have spent throughout the years in giving us part of that wonderful mindset of yours. I love watching you Jen, I think you are a quirky, interesting person and I love seeing how your craft evolves over time. I personally won’t pay into a monthly subscription, and I think that there would be a lot of others out there as well who won’t. I would rather see advertising added as a way for you to earn more income, and that could be on your old videos as well. Patreon is another way you could go, giving those who want to pay a little extra. Also I think a lot of us would love to see you do some live sessions where you could get super chats. Whatever you decide to do Jen, I wish you all the best for your future. I’m glad to hear you may re-use some of your older templates to make life easier. (I suggested you do that a few videos back when you were announcing the upcoming new templates) It will promote them and will boost their sales. ❤

i am in to whatever you decide to do. i like the idea of a multiple tiered system using your already produced templates. like you said, you can do so many different things with your templates, but i, for one, can't often think of how else to use them, so a subscription to have other options would be great! and, like someone else mentioned, 1st tier for a "mini" project, 2nd tier and you'd get both the mini and a "med" project 3rd tier mini, med, and "large" project video tutorial. hope that makes sense. also, doing it that way, we could use up more of the paper pad(s). As far as the paper being used, i think that most people realize that papers go through cycles of being available, our future selves will be able to deal with using other papers in any tutorials just like we do now. You are my favorite album creator and i want to support you however i can!

Looking forward to your membership with extra tutorials. I think you will really come up with a great idea on how to do that. Would like to see the scripty check on other template sets. Greetings from Belgium.

Maybe do it on the complexity of the project. Have a mini project, an intermediate and a hard level. Or a mini project only level and a mini and bigger project level and a mini, bigger and prototype level. There is also platforms like Teachable that is used for tutorial classes.

I support you whichever direction you choose to go with your business; you more than deserve compensation for your creativity. Whichever direction, have you considered offering these paid membership options via Facebook or Instagram? I know Etsy & KZread both take a cut but I don’t think the other platforms do(?)! The Natures Academia is a bit moody & darker than other collections you’ve considered… not sure about purchasing myself but would definitely enjoy watching what you do with it though. I’m sure it will be spectacular! 💜💜

To be honest- I initially wasn’t a fan of the paid membership- but the way you explained it here started to make more sense. If I’m understanding you correctly- it’s like you would still film at least one video series showing how to use a set of templates - but then extra videos showing additional ways with additional paper lines would be offered through a membership. If I have that right - it makes sense. That way you are fairly compensated for the “extra” work and we get to watch the “extra” videos if we chose to.

I think that you are an amazing artist and content provider. I recently purchased a few of your templates and enjoy your videos. I think that your idea on template tutorials is correct in that tutorials/demonstrations for the template sizes themselves could be for the general audience. But your additional project (i.e.. additional albums, journals, keepers etc.) could be at a flat membership per project. That why we can pick and choose. You could also include small classes and "how to's" on other projects such as new processes and techniques. I would love to see what you might come up with for an explosion box! In whatever you decide, the decision is up to you and your many admirers will support you. See ya soon.

Jennifer I’d definitely pay a monthly subscription as long as it’s possible to cancel at any time. Gosh if I give up 1 coffee per week, then it’ll be affordable. I also wouldn’t mind if you did ads on your videos if that helps you. I think you are an amazing creator and I’ve followed you for years. I have many many of your templates. Jen, as of late I have purchased a few of your templates and have made some albums, following your instructions/ decorations to a T. Let me tell you, your work is amazing! I would definitely be willing to pay for more album tutorials. I’m just hoping the paper collections you choose to use will not be sold out. Hi Jen, so excited to see you start the next album. Timeless is so gorgeous! I have a question and a suggestion. I am the definition of fixed income and it would be a tremendous help for me if you used digitals more. Many of the digital makers have an ephemera kit as well as the journal kit and it would be such a financial help for someone like me. As for the paper flowers, I am absolutely certain that there are flowers out there in colors that will match every digital available. And bonus…. The digitals are always available! Chapter One papers is a great one!! And I wanted to ask you if the scripty check will ever be available as a background pattern and sold along with your others a couple of times per year? In your own words, “ I hope that I am making sense.” LOVE SCRIPTY CHECK!! I have often thought that you do so much and ask so little in return. It just boggles the mind the way you develop and design the album templates, print, and probably reprint, then print the final pages, bind those pages into your signature booklet, then make the photo page for your Etsy store and then choose your paper and choose what album you will make first and once that’s done you make your album prototype and sometimes you make another one, and when they are done you finally choose the paper kit that we and you will use and you finally make your video that we are chomping at the bit for! I don’t know how you do it but I do know that you do it all for free and that’s too much. I am all for you discovering a way to make some compensation and my guess is that all of your subscribers feel the same. If I can afford it I will and if I can’t I won’t, but if there is a class video in your Etsy shop it will be there when I can afford it. You go girl!💕

The company I work for sells wreath making supplies and they do surprise box memberships. And the things in those boxes are not available in the supplies unless they have extra items. They also include, as a thank you to the members, an item that is not going to be offered in their supply shop-some times it's a roll of ribbon or it might be a floral pick that they designed exclusive for the members of the box group. They do this so the people that pay for the box membership gets something that no one else has access to other than fellow members. You could design digital backgrounds that will be exclusive to the ones that join your KZread membership. Not offer it to the Etsy shoppers or the people that only do the free youtube tutorials. Does that make sense?

I like the paper collection! My favorite page is the navy blue with the butterflies on it. As someone else mentioned, it will be interesting to see how you use the papers in the album. 🙂❤

Would using a digital paper set on the video you charge for be an option? Then the paper set would always be available and maybe more people would buy the video as time goes by. I'm not a fan of subscriptions, but would purchase your videos. I love the idea if revisiting earlier template sets. You are the best!

Jennifer…me again…I’m subscribed to channels that show videos for free and offer specialty videos for a charge. Just recently, there is one for around $70 and get 3 videos and honestly they are no where near the creative magic you share for free. Please don’t feel bad for starting something like this. Those who can…will and those who can’t…will not but I honestly don’t see your business suffering for it. In the example I mentioned, there are many who are signed up but I’m not one. I support in other ways and continue to watch and enjoy their channels.

I’m not a big fan of the check design paper. I know this is a big ask, could you make up a background design with your mushroom design?

Hey - make your money however you can, of course, no one can tell you NOT to add additional options or sources of income. Most creators give an option for additional support - as most of them have Patreons where they have tiered membership levels to get different levels of engagement from the creator whether that's getting a certain exclusive printable every month, getting extra videos or live streams, getting behind the scenes videos or lifestyle vlogs, or access to a small paid community where that small group does an additional project with you every month. I think if you have tiers - you definitely need to add some incentives that are unique to each tier. Otherwise you should just add a "buy me a coffee" or "help a crafter out" button for people to just donate whatever. BUT you will quickly run into issues if you offer people tiered memberships, but offer the same thing. The people paying $30 a month will start demanding that they get something more than someone paying $2 month. I think that's just life - and it's only fair. As an example: where I live - they have different bus passes. $5 gets you unlimited travel/transfers for the day, $20 (I think( gives you unlimited travel for a week, and $110 gives you unlimited travel/transfers for a month. No one would pay $110 if I they get the same benefits and limits as someone paying $5. If you offer tiers - you need to offer perks and benefits for each tier. Now, T1 ($5/month example) should have a baseline perk (maybe a T1 KZread badge (if they still do those) and a new, exclusive printable, template, or drawing every month), T2 ($10/month example) should get what T1 gets and then something extra ( T2 badge and maybe 3 backgrounds valued at $10 or more quarterly), T3 ($15/month example) should get T1 and T2 plus (T3 badge and maybe a 2 hr group live stream where you all chat and craft together quarterly), and T4 ($30/month example) should get T1, T2, T3 plus (T4 badge, 1 set of album templates for the year (their choice?), and access to a private community that does a group swap every year based on a holiday or theme). These are just some thoughts. In any case, this is something you need to really think about as tiered memberships will require MORE work for you - not less. That's why T1 should be the only tier where you're creating something new monthly. The rest get T1 automatically and then additional stuff quarterly and annually - just makes it easier and everything can kind of roll out the same day. Like, the same day the monthly exclusive printable goes out to group 1 and all other members can be the same day groups 2/3/4 get their 3 backgrounds, groups 3/4 get their 2hr live stream, and group 4 gets its 1 set of album templates plus the theme for their private annual swap... hope this makes sense. I'm sure you'll figure it out, though. Just offering my .06 cents. LOL. Hmmm - as regards the new paper stack, I limit the amount of whimsical fantasy type stuff I buy (sometimes I get gnome, faerie, elf, sprite, mermaid, unicorn themes, etc if they are really cute), but I try not to purchase occult things (witches, wizards, devils, magic, tarot, etc). They sometimes get mixed in with things, but I won't use them. Like you said with the pegasus - I'd probably just cut that out or trash anything that is suspect to me). That said, I probably wouldn't get this stack myself. I like the fireflies, butterflies, mushrooms and books, though. TBH - I like the backs more than the fronts.

This paper collection would be great for males just cover the fairies.

I do believe playing it by ear refers to playing music by ear. I think you should make your giveaways for members only. I don’t blame you for considering it and I think you should try it.

OK Jennifer if you want to do this, this is great. I can see you wanting to expand and bring more to your income. I think you’re gonna burn the candle at both ends. You have enough on your plate just doing the videos that you do now between working and everything that I have going on here I’m just as stressed as you are. I love what you do don’t get me wrong. I think you’re very intelligent lady to make it more where I have to pay to watch you I probably won’t do that. I have so many of your templates I’ve been following you for so long. I am a fan and the last thing I would wanna do is say something wrong to offend you but this is my suggestion if you’re willing to burn the candle at both ends doing these videos then doing additional videos why don’t you make the additional videos on older templates that you already have, and put a new twist on those for us that have those templates but we don’t have the smarts that you have to just bring out these templates and know what to do with them. I have so many albums. I keep each one of them I can’t afford all the papers that you use, but I do go to my local Joanns and Michael’s and I get what I can afford but Jennifer if I have to pay to watch you, I’m more likely. Won’t I watch KZread for the free classes? I watch KZread to get incentive I watch KZread to learn but I I can’t. I probably won’t be able to pay to watch you. I’ll miss you but I hope you still stay on with the KZread station so I can still watch you Your fan forever.. barb

I honestly think that you should offer tutorials on Etsy that you tell us about on KZread and show the end products that KZread. Price it based on how many hours you work on it. The monthly charge to be a member does not appeal to me at all. When I have joined a monthly charge group I never felt I got what I was paying for. I would buy tutorials. You would need to do a lot of short videos repeatedly marketing the tutorials.

Also, if you do the membership thing it puts a great deal of pressure on yourself to perform. It can become overwhelmingly quick. You have a very busy private life. I have been following you for many years now.

Okay Jennifer, if you have say…3 different tiers of memberships for subscribers to join, if you have the exact same content for all 3 tiers, there is ZERO INCENTIVE TO PAY for a HIGHER TIER! KZread memberships should be the easiest way to go since this is your main platform for your subscribers and videos. If someone pays for the “Highest Tier” say…$30.00 dollars per month you should include….a Bi-Weekly LIVESTREAM where the highest paying level can get their questions answered by you showing them right there, or include MORE VIDEOS TO THEM. If you DON’T have something SPECIAL FOR HIGHER TIERS, YOU WON’T MAKE ANY MONEY as everyone will only pay the least amount of money as everyone would be getting the same thing, I hope you understand what I’m saying, because you have a HUGE HEART AND A VERY GIVING SOUL, I understand it’s DIFFICULT for you to even make this suggestion to have a MONTHLY INCOME, please understand that you making these Templates and ALL OF YOUR FREE VIDEOS is costing you, YOUR TIME AND MONEY. When people have purchased all of your WORKBOOKS, what kind of income will you be bringing in for ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK making the FREE VIDEOS? Think about this for a moment, because THIS IS YOUR BUSINESS! Work this as your PROFESSION, “WHICH IT IS MY DEAR,” and that’s all I’m going to say about that!! ❤
