Everyone likes to talk about best practices. We'll go the other way round and gather all the worst practices to learn how to build the worst Event Sourcing system!
Event Sourcing is perceived as a complex pattern that’s challenging to learn. In fact, it's pretty simple, but the way it's taught may lead to such a conclusion. By going through the worst ideas, we'll also learn the essence of Event Sourcing.

Funny and informative - hits close to home on some points as well. Would love to see a "build a good (or just acceptable) one" as well :D

Eventsourcing is so prone to be misunderstood and known for its complexity, while it should be the default and the simplest (dumbest) solution to storing data, as disk space is plenty nowadays. But after seeing all these talks, I'm not sure anymore

It was really very very confusing, I was not able to understand what is the message from the talk, what the speaker want to convey to us, is 'Event Ordering' good or bad? is 'Long-living streams' good or bad? It would be much more better if the speaker went for the direct way for saying we should do this or that, and not added a mental cognitive overhead of translating everything in our minds. The introduction also is redundant, why to introduce those actors, there is no value in mentioning them. In short, the speaker is not using direct way of communicating at all, and all the added games and jokes makes the idea harder to understand. I am trying to understanding Events-related topics from long time ago, and this talk did not help me at all. Sorry for saying that

There is no good or bad, the video shows some popular ways to use event sourcing and problem that you will have by using these ways. You must know it to do trade off while designing the system.
