Let's Build THE WORLDS | The Gnome Inn | Henford-on-Bagley | Pt 2

Ойындар

Ello my dears!
We are back with The Gnome Inn today, we put more details on the exterior at the front and we make a start on the back area too. I also go through the stories I chose for the lore of this lot!

maybe in the haunted room have a small journal out that guests use to write down their experiences. A lot of haunted locations have something like that. And maybe some portrait of Eloise that people leave small gifts because part of the story could be she brings luck to couples because she doesn't want to have others suffer heartbreak

Both of the Stories were absolutely brilliant. I was thinking why not make both the stories into one . Instead of the farm boy , lets keep his identity a mystery and later the villagers found him sucking blood from the late lord's daughter in one of the inn's room. The villagers then locked and bolted the room and the window ( you can bolt one of the upper window from outside to add character to the building)

Thank you for using my story! I love how it has melded so easily with the other one, perhaps Patrick wasn't just lower-class, but reputed to be from a long line of 'hairy-handed gents'? You could even go full occult, Romeo and Juliet style? Haden Hall is old, obviously haunted, who knows what funny shaped boxes are in the cellar? They said Eloise died, but, what if she didn't? Ghosts aren't the only beings who walk the night...

I love both storylines and I adore the idea of leaving offerings to the gnomes. It would be super cute if you added like a half-hidden little ‘shrine’ (a shelf? Nothing big) on the inside, with a gnome and random bits and pieces around it.

It would be super cool to have Eloise’s headstone hidden in one of the bushes on the property and have her be a ghost that haunts the inn. It would really immerse you in the lore and if people didn’t want to have that be a part of their game it would just be as easy as removing the headstone. I love the idea of having lore in these builds, it really flashes out the world and makes it feel more interconnected

Could you maybe move the little statue and flowers to the corner near the tree and have it back on to the wooden fence thats there now and then maybe have your picnic benches along the shorter fence near the river. Could maybe use the tool mod and add some picnic benches off the lot so it looks as if the garden extends out. That could maybe work? ☺️

LOVE the creative backstories! Way to go, writers!! Hmm... More corbels like you used on the little entry exterior on the kitchen / store room roof overhangs and the little pop out area at the opposite end's roof overhangs, perhaps? Maybe an urn in one of the rooms (the one the young lover's met in). Maybe the young man never married and when he died there was nobody to claim his remains so the tavern owner stepped up, claimed them and put the urn in "their" room which only serves to spark more interest in the history and draw in traveling patrons?

I love both stories. And I love that you include Lore into the builds. However, I am thinking that the memorial should maybe belong in a park as it seems to fit better. I bet if you asked various residents what they think of the Eloise and Patrick legend, they'd give you wildly different answers. Most of the Haden-Cromwells think that Patrick was probably a no good rabble-rouser who got what was coming to him, with the exception of Elizabeth, who thinks they were probably just a pair of nice kids born in the wrong time period (partly to spite Tarquin Guff-Blythe, who thinks Eloise was a silly emotional girl easily swayed by a bit of rough), and Arthur, who couldn't care less. Someone in the village who absolutely hates the Haden-Cromwells has continued this hatred onto poor dead Eloise and believes she was most likely a vampy seductress who was probably in on the plot to get rid of honest, hard-working Patrick. Some people in the village have really gotten swept up in the ~romance~ of it all and write songs and leave offerings to the statue (that Lady Chloris statue from Romantic Garden Stuff might also do as a statue in the beer garden), and if you ask the vicar, they'll give you a brief history of the parish records that show christenings and dates of births and deaths of the pair, and hint that they may have gotten married... The people who own the inn just think it's a great way to make more money!

Since it's a save file, you should actually include the ghost of Eloise. All you have to do is make a sim of her and have her die on premises, then hide her urn in her special room, and her ghost will occasionally spawn. Don't use cheats or MCCC to kill her, though, or you won't get a tombstone.

Is the statue turned towards the window to the room that they met in? Because the statue looks like it's reaching longingly, I feel like it could represent the ghost yearning for her and her lover's times together, shared in secret. ...Maybe storywise, the statue was installed facing like, towards the door outside to "welcome the customers outside. But at the night of the anniversary of the lovers' last time seeing each other, the statue turned towards the window of their room.
