As I don't have many ideas for videos right now and I'm still hard at work on my next Wonder video, I figured why not pass the time by revisiting one of the most nostalgic Mario games for me? What one, you may be asking? Well, none other than New Super Mario Bros. U, of course! Well, the Deluxe version in this case. But let's be real, there's not much of a difference between Deluxe and the original Wii U game. Not enough to warrant considering Deluxe its own game, anyway.
I have a huge spot in my heart for the New series. You either love these games, hate these games, or you're very neutral about them. And well, I absolutely ADORE the New games. I grew up playing New Super Mario Bros. DS and Wii non-stop and I still vividly remember 2 and U releasing like it was yesterday. With U specifically, I remember waking up for school and before going, I'd watch the trailers for both the Wii U and NSMBU countless times just eagerly awaiting their arrival. And now, the game is well over a decade old and has a Deluxe port on one of Nintendo's best-selling consoles. How time flies, huh?
Well, Ryan's nostalgic backstory aside, I figured to pass the time in this dry era of Nintendo while we wait for the next-gen console at the tail end of the Switch's lifespan, what better way to do so than by revisiting NSMBU and doing a Let's Play on the game! So that's exactly what we're doing! I will be going for 100% in this playthrough, so get ready for one heck of an adventure! Let's-a go!
