"Let my name be sorrow" - Françoise Hardy (HD)

Text/Musik: Bernard Estardy, Martine Habib
1971
When I watch you sadly going
When all you can say is no
Let my name be sorrow
Let my name be sorrow
When I long to see you smiling
When your fear just won't let go
Let my name be sorrow
Let my name be sorrow
Once we had laughs as big as lies
We had lies as sweet as you
Till one morning for us two
All was over
When the dawn is softly showing
Darkness lingers on your brow
Let my name be sorrow
Let my name be sorrow
When the roses we were growing
Lose their petals one by one
Let my name be sorrow
Once we had laughs as big as lies
We had lies as sweet as you
Till nne morning for us two
All was over
You didn't have to say I love you
When your heart is far behind
Let my name be sorrow
Let ms name be sorrow

Merci thank you. The original singer-songwriter - Françoise Hardy - is really lovely and beautiful. And beautiful scenery of Paris. 10* all the best, Tommy Do you know Mary Hopkin covers this, in English, in French and in Japanese!. Japanese and English versions are available at my ch. Please enjoy them too.

Thank you for uploading, the moving song and the beautiful singer! Truly a delight! Forgive me using English, my High School French would not have been pretty! Be Well, JSE.

Her version is quite melancholic compared to the angelic Mary Hopkin's version, but i love that sad atmosphere. Françoise has never sung this tune in french, right?

Merci Marie, C'est une chanson interprétée par Mary Hopkin à l'origine. Celle de FH est différente avec un petit accent français... Bises et bonne semaine.
