I rooted for the heels even as a 5 or 6 year old. Lol. Guess I had the darkness in me even back then. Hahaha. I loved Piper as a heel, Flair, Jake The Snake, Million Dollar Man, and several others. I loved most heels, but those were some of my favorites. I got really upset when the baby faces won. Lol

Ricky. It seems your hell bent on this whole reseading thing. And obviously it's your thing so gonna do your thing and will follow and always support you. That said I'm gonna keep making my point on why I'm against it. So I'm gonna throw out my best argument right now and it's called March Madness. I want a rumble tourney like that. They never resead and look at all those Cinderella runs over the years. I want to see teams that shouldn't make it make it. If you keep taking one seeds vs tgr lowest seeds it really diminishes the chances for those Cinderella type runs. Just something to think about I guess. Regardless I'm locked in as usual and love this format. Can't wait for the next one brother.

Same here, brother. It was an absolutely awesome time to be a kid. Wrestling was magical. It was like watching cartoon and comic book characters come to life. Of course, as a kid, it all seemed real. The characters they had back then, and the gimmicks, were larger than life. Gimmicks are amazing to kids (at least they were to me), and back then they had a countless number of gimmick wrestlers. My God, do I wish I could go back in time and relive those years.

Kudos! People often overlook Roger Dangerfield, the lesser known of the Dangerfield brothers.

@@RickyJSports Have the last Rumble Combatant standing that's part of their team become captain in the first rounds. Here, it was Big John Studd. For NWO, Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Of course, Conner McGregor won the Rumble but his team didn't have enough to advance so the solution to that is have The Terminator as team captain for Action Heroes as he was the second to last. The only issue is what happens when two members of the same team are part of the final two yet don't score enough points for their team to advance. Still thinking about that. But with this, it creates bigger intrigue. giving everyone a chance to cheer on their favorite team member in this goal in addition to their favorite team winning the first round.

We must be around the same age Ricky cuz these guys were such big influences on me during my childhood. Brings back many memories. Love the videos brother. Keep up the good work my friend.

I'm glad that there will still be a season 5 overall champion. Your a passionate fan, that's why you were moved to tears watching Saturday Nights Main Event, so was I! I'm really enjoying this season so much, I could cry!

Sgt. Slaughter started as a heel, but became a face with a feud against the Iron Sheik. He turned heel again in 1990 when Iraq invaded Kuwait. He became an Iraqi sympathizer but that lasted just over a year. After falling out with his manager and sidekick, he did a redemption angle.

My brothers and I used to always root for the heels at the live matches. We would fight with the crowd, and get thrown out every time. Good times!

Macho Man probably should have been on the heel team. He was a heel for practically all of the 80's, except for the year he turned babyface and formed the Mega Powers, which he ended up turning heel again. He is a legendary heel... I mean, it was his heat the made the Wrestlemania 3 match fire when he injured Steamboat's throat.

Cheryl Roberts, Jake's wife, WAS on Rick Rude's tights! Jake did tear them off him during a match (Rude vs. a jobber named Tommy Angel) on SUPERSTARS OF WRESTLING.

You briefly mentioned wrestling action figures in the commentary. When i was younger as well as having all the traditional tag teams like the Steiner brothers, etc i made up some interesting ones of my own. My favourite and most successful was very unique, Steve Austin partnered with Hak (also known as the Sandman), they were almost unbeatable (except if i partnered my favourite 2 wrestlers Sting and Sid Vicious against them lol).

Can you expand this tournament to have 16 matches in the first round instead of 8?

As part of the plea for 2k23 Rumble alliances, it would be cool if the allied partners use actual double-team tactics they used in real life. Demolition doing their double smashing on an opponent before roaring. Or if Shawn and Marty put aside emnity to team against a common foe, when they send the foe into the ropes, do their double vault, double back elbow, double elbow drop and double kip up! Rock and mankind with Sock Rock connection double team. Jim and Bret with the Hart Attack... Etc.

Actually in 80s WWF Slaughter was mostly a face. He turned heel in 1990-1991. I guess he was a heel in the early 80s but he was face against Sheik and at that point was the top babyface other than Hogan and maybe Snuka (and even rivaled Hogan in that 1984 timeframe pre-WM 1)

For a solid 20-30 seconds, this Rumble felt like it actually had factions integrated into the game. Slaughter was fighting Steamboat Mr. Perfect was fighting Hillbilly Iron Sheik was fighting Duggan Ventura was fighting Texas Tornado It genuinely felt like a Faction v Faction RR in those moments.

Watching these videos made me want to play WWE 2K again 💪🏾🙌🏾👏🏾

Just a suggestion here but you should do a teams tournament where the team that wins makes the final rumble(15 guys). After that you can put the winner of other rumbles who weren't on the winning team into the final Rumble(a potential for anywhere from 11-14 other guys). Then you can pad the final rumble out with last year's winner, plus a host of other random wrestlers(ie have a first entrant rumble, last eliminated rumble, MVP of each rumble, etc until you get your 30 guys)

I know this will probably be hard to do but I was thinking, if you stick with Teams, or are going to swap the format in and out over the seasons. You could do 'Survivor Series' teams. You could either still do 'Heels' Vs 'Faces' or have each team scoring separately (that last one will be hell for you is my guess). But yeah basically you could do the Survivor Series 1988 line up etc

Awesome rumble Ricky. I would like to see this heel roster go against the nwo roster you used. So I think you should keep rosters the same. Either way you choose I know it will be great

Ricky I really like this new style for Season 5. I definitely like the idea of a Tag team faces vs Tag team heels Rumble.

Low key want a spoiler team in the last bracket. The MVPs from every team that has been eliminated to that point team up to get revenge and one last shot at coming back to win the tournament against the teams who eliminated their buddies.

Kind of ironic that when Big John Studd won the 89 Rumble, he was a baby face.

Not sure if you have this planned for this season rumble but you should do WCW/WWE not sure if that fits your theme this season, love your videos

If I were 10 years old I'd lose my mind with this game. This looks great.

If you started the chaining process now you should make sure to do it for the previous two rumbles also so the scores are accurate for the reseed

Here's an idea off the top of my head: How about the Samoans (Roman, Rock, Usos, Umaga, Rikishi, Samoans, etc) vs the All-Americans (all wrestlers who were patriotic)? That could be interesting...anyways, just a suggestion. You could also do 80's cartoon characters vs modern day cartoon characters, or if you want to keep it wrestlers, since you've already used the 80's wrestlers, how about the current roster vs the Attitude Era. Whatever teams you choose, keep up the great work, I'll be here watching along with so many others.

So wish Perfect came in later. But regardless the heels won so at least get to see him again. Far and away my favorite heel of all time and was always a big fan of the perfect plex.

I keep thinking Ricky Steamboat had a heel run at some point that lasted all of a month before they realized there was simply no way he could be a believable heel.

I definitely always root for the heels. My whole life I've been that way. I can tell you liked all the good guys. Fan favorites. Etc. The undertaker is my all time favorite wrestler and he started out evil which in my opinion was his best version of his character.

Ricky Ricky Ricky... I'm a huge Kerry von Erich fan as you know. He did not get into the WWF until the '90s. If you want to call him the modern-day warrior, Kerry von Erich. You're good to go. But unfortunately and this makes me very sad he was a 1990s wrestler under that moniker. I'm sorry... 😞

In this one, I was Team heel all the way, always have enjoyed heels more than babyfaces. Also for future videos I'd love to see the NWA Dusty Rhodes be used where he had plain black tights and no shirt instead of the polka dot Dusty.
