In the UK we all wear uniforms then when I moved to the US and went to a school where we didn't have to... (as a parent now) I'm so happy my Son wears a uniform, not quite like we wore in the UK tbf... Cos trainers or sneakers I mean are worn...and he's all latest Nikes etc etc.. I agree except I wouldn't call it a box of trendy styles. I feel like people these days are more motivated towards appearing "unique", "special" and "quirky". Rather than remaining in a box, I think people try really hard to get out of the "basic" box but then again, there's really nothing wrong with being basic. This is especially evident in women, especially with the "not like the other girls" trope. I guess you could say that not wanting to be mainstream has become mainstream. It's a real psychological thing that to a certain degree, people want to be more unique (yet not too different either). I wrote an entire article on this haha I had references but too lazy to dig 'em up. Just sharing :))

She said dress like popular girls. So then only popular girls wear those outfits. And because they are trendy the prices are insane, and hard for me who doesnt like that style to find clothes as it's all what's trendy. I was never shutting down other girls. I was stating an opinion without shutting them down. I never said they couldn't wear them, I just don't understand why that is trendy, and everyone needs to wear that outfit to be cool. Just like when I was in highschool back in 2015 (graduated then) if you wore a certain brand name you were popular, atleast it wasn't a trend that will probably die in a few years. They should become popular for being nice or mean (whatever type of popular girl) they want to be with their own style.

I have no problem with people who are "basic," it really just means being plain and simple and not really standing out and that's perfectly fine. I can say I hate all “alt” people as the people I have met have meowed and barked at me in public and tried to fight me on a subject they know nothing about and they are all monster addicts who can’t survive without it so their personalities suck. For saying that I’d probably get “attacked” on Twitter or get some debates but when people have a problem with more basic people it’ll be ignored and just brushed away. People dont like trendy outfits because they are trendy, its because trendy outfits ARE typically cute. trends are trends for a reason. trendy outfits are trendy because they are flattering, however no one is making you follow trends so if you want to stand out and make a statement, wear what you want but in the end what matters it that you like what you wear and you feel confident wearing it :)

I have a couple of nice popular girls in my school, but I honestly don’t blame people for thinking this way. A lot of popular girls in my school are always in drama and getting in trouble. Most of them are annoying and buy expensive clothes from the mall and get the newest iPhone every single year. They constantly have boyfriends and always cheat on them and get new ones, and they all have blonde or brown hair and are always good-looking. They all dress similar to this style, but with different tops because our school doesn’t allow tube tops. Right now as an example I’m going to tell you about two nice popular girls in my school. They are popular for basically the exact same reason you are, and they are super nice and they’re friendly to everyone. I’m just saying that yes, what you’re saying is true, but it sadly isn’t super common.

So, one day after finishing my class..my classmate (The popular bully) suddenly came up to me saying if i was Izza..and i said yes..then she furiously looked at me and took to a class where there was her rest of gang..then she made me sit down to a chair in middle of the class, and started to ask weird questions asking about a boy, like do you know him and stuffs and obviously he was one of the school's heartthrob. How can i not know him right? So after i told her that i knew him..she again asked more weird questions like were you in a relation with him or are u a virgin..(gosh things got really weird) and i sayed no no NO! i really have nothing to do with him! Then it felt like she was about to slap me! Then suddenly the classroom door opened and another girl came saying that i wasn’t the person they were looking for..its another popular girl.. And they were like saying sorry and all...but i just ran away with my teary eyes...since i was too scared and felt embarrassed so i never really complained about it to the teachers.. Fact that they didnt bully me anymore but always teases me about my body "features" and always laughed about it.. So, yeah..its always a pain to be a popular girl.. Oh and my name and the other mean popular girl's nme were the same and thats when they mistook me for her...🤷‍♀️😔
