I did deliveries way back when postmates was a new thing. I was making around $60/Hour on weekends. I still get videos recommended about it lol. It's much more difficult to earn a livable wage on there.

Hiring outside companies to perform tasks formerly done by employees is the latest way for corporations to cut their costs of doing business and pass the expense onto someone else - they don't pay health benefits, fica, workmen's compensation insurance, etc. Self-employment is great, except you're on your own out there. Companies such as the food delivery giants like private contractors because that's not an expense for them. - It's your problem and also must be taken into consideration. Being able to pay for medical attention when needed is a BIG deal. (especially with the inherent dangers of two wheeled deliveries)

Absolutely on point. Things have gotten convenient, but the workers are are paying for it. The more i look for work the more i realize even small companies are using this strategy.

Hey Squid, I'm 3 weeks into Door Dash on my 49cc scooter. I have the pakir Bag as well. Can you do a video on how you are setting up the rack and bag to the scooter itself. My C3 has the OG rack so I can add my bag no problem there. I was just wondering how much of a hassle to get the rack secured on diff scoots. Im cominf from Pizza delivery. Drinks and soup are biggest pain in the butt right now. Id say 95% of my orders have drinks..

Motorcycles require insurance which adds to costs. Scooters…..are scooters.

You always tell it like it is. So many of the other youtubers doing food delivery videos are all clickbait. Either they prey on the fears of riders talking about how bad it is… or they are the other extreme saying how you can make $400 to $500 a day! 😂 Mostly they make their money with youtube not food delivery, so of course they’re not gonna be honest. It’s all sensationalized. Your videos are refreshing because you’re actually a rider & you realistically show the pros & cons from your own experience. I’m about to buy a used Honda PCX & do food delivery as a side hustle here in NY on weeknights after my regular job installing solar panels, and on the weekends. Uber Eats accepted me right away. I am still waiting to be accepted for Doordash & Grub Hub. What i like about Uber Eats, is that you can go on whenever you want & go wherever you want. From what I hear about DD & GH is that you have to “schedule” your time in advance, so you can’t be spontaneous…and you also have to stay within a certain area. Anyway, I enjoy your videos for your honesty. Looking forward to making my own videos! I’m lucky, because like you, I am in a good area(New York). I don’t know how much I’ll make yet, but it’ll be fun just getting paid to ride my scooter. 🛵 💨
