Lessons I learned as a housewife *before having a child
Someone asked if I could discuss my transition from being a stay at home wife (housewife) to being a stay at home mom and I thought that was an amazing idea! So here I discussed things I learned as a housewife that I think prepared me to be a stay at home mom! There are many other lessons I’ve learned along the way that I did not mention so let me know if you’d like a part 2!

I really enjoyed this. All of this is good advice for wives preparing for motherhood. Thank you for your transparency. Also, I love the mini twists. Honestly, pulled back it looks very earthy / exotic. It’s a very beautiful aesthetic.

I totally get you, Gwen. I became a sahw when I was pregnant with my son. I had a lot of boredom and felt empty at that time because I had to do a lot of self reflection. The hardest time was immediately postpartum because we live on the opposite side of the country from our families. Now, as a sahm to a 1 year old, I am so grateful for that season. I am so mentally strong now and doing what's best to nourish my family with better food and a better environment. My baby and I have an incredible bond and my husband holds me in high regard because of all the sacrifices I have made for him and our son. A lot of people don't understand my choices, but I am so uninterested in keeping up with the Jones lol

You can train yourself not to be bored. But learning to live with our thoughts are essential byt you grie to love it Im never bored ( issues sleeping, health problems , and stuck at home ) You can ger past the fark thoughts put it in a compartment , make yourself positive. If you do this right, kerp your mind busy snf thrre aren't enough hours in the day Take each hour or several hours at a time . Busy yourself learning or thinking or being interested in things or communicating with people. You can be home but you never walk alone. Obviously im not a housewife but i know the feeling.

Love your seat down talks when you share your wisdom with us! You're so right about having a child as well as a spouse. It definitely reveals areas in your life that you may still need some work. Patience is definitely one of those areas for me that I still need to work on 🥴. So happy to hear you're building your community! I pray your community continues to grow in strength and love ❤

This was a great video! Thank you! I went from a working woman to a SAHM and tbh I’m still learning and transitioning. I can look back and I’ve definitely done some of the things you said and am grateful for it, like researching and learning about food and raising your kids how you want and things like that. I truly enjoy it and kinda call it one of my hobbies. I’m currently learning how to make bread at home with my at home grain mill and never thought I’d be doing that, but don’t tell the Lord you’ll never do something cuz he’ll make you do it 😂. But I am still learning time management and best way to complete tasks and even be ok when I don’t complete it all. I’m also learning to become a morning person, which is so hard because I’ve been never been a morning person but I see the benefits, along with its in the Bible and therefore I should do it. Anyways, God bless you and your family and continue the good work you do. It’s glorifies the Lord and that’s what we all want to do, make him happy 😊

How I manage my time is another thing that has been exposed to me during this journey 😩 it’s a work in progress 😩 and wow I have to look into a grain mill, that may save us $$$! Thank you for that!

@@Offthebeatenpath. it’s a little bit of an investment but most kitchen appliances are 😂. But I watched a video from the channel Bread Beckers and she talked about bread from a biblical standpoint along with some science to show the benefits of freshly milled flour. It’s so fascinating and once I learned how to look at bread from the Bible, I jumped in head first. The video I watched first was called Do Not Eat The Bread of Idleness on their channel by Sue Becker. Hope this helps!

Gwen, you look stunning in this baby blue colour! 🩵 I am not a wife and mama yet, but I am working full time in corporate. there is so much I’m doing right now to prepare to being a SAHW/M in the future and this advice is so so helpful. I’m currently working on building systems and routines around my day; doing research on food, clean living and how I want to raise family; and strengthening my relationships with the Lord. Would definitely, love more of this type of content from you! Xx

What's your take on birth control, are Christian women permitted to be using birth control or should we be fruitful and multiply?

Not sure if you’re a girl so if not, I hope this isn’t TMI! I took birth control at 19 once, the depo shot. I had a reverse period for 3 months! From my own experience, I absolutely think it’s damaging for our bodies!

Loved hearing your wisdom and insightful advice on things you've learned and things you should've done. I'm always trying to make sure I use my time fruitfully to research and learn as much as I can before having children. Community is definitely something that David and I have had to put ourselves out there for bc its truly important to be connected to the body of Christ especially for encouragement, prayer, Godly wisdom from the older women, and support in staying grounded in the word 📖🕊🤍 ty for sharing
