I'm glad that other teachers find this format usual. This was definitely a departure from the way I usually teach (to the camera), but it was the best way to teach grammar and vocabulary through conversation. Thank you for your support!
Hello, Actually, many would say I speak too fast for beginners, but I'm determined to help Natasha and others learn to comprehend fast speech. My speech is slower than usual in this series, but still natural in terms of pausing, etc. Remember this is only one playlist. My other playlists target intermediate and advanced speakers. I think you'll hear a difference. Also, I include many guest speakers who aren't teachers in order to expose you to other models ("real" ones).
Thank you. More lessons are coming soon. :)
Thank you for your kind support. :) Best wishes to you!
You are very welcome! :) I hope to make new lessons with Natasha at some point. Have a good day!
I'm glad to have such young viewers! :)
Thanks for the suggestion. Natasha and I have been focusing on grammar through conversation. After we get a few more structures in place, I will likely increase the focus on vocabulary and literacy. :)
Thank you for your wonderful support, Sultan! :)
Cada vez que veo estos maravillosos videos, me viene màs ganas de seguir pràcticando el Inglès porque de verdad son muy didacticos para estudiantes como yo que necesito pràcticar. Muchisimas gracias y tantas Bendiciones por este lindo regalo . Jennifer. bye,bye.

Hello! This is a series for beginners. It will continue for a little while longer, and then it will end. In this series, I've decided to use this format for a few different reasons. Most important, it's a way to teach my friend AND help other beginners. All my other playlists use my traditional format. I've started a new series on verb tenses. The second lesson will be posted soon. Thanks for watching.
Sorry for the delay! Yes, you can use either the gerund (-ing) or the infinitive after LIKE. For now, I'm teaching Natasha to use the infinitive because she's familiar with it.

김우신 Hi Marvine. Well, it's actually a good thing when you play around with the language. You can start to learn patterns and rules. Try substituting ideas: 1. What do you cook? Do you cook chicken? How many chickens do you cook? How many eggs do you cook? How many dishes do you cook? 2. Do you play games? Do you play games at the beach? Do you play games at the park? What games do you play at the beach? What games do you play at the park?

In American English, "family" is a collective noun and we use a singular verb. We see it as one unit.

You can watch my playlist on Verb Tenses. I cover question formation and short answers in those lessons. Also, look at Lesson 10 in my Common Mistakes lesson. It addresses negative questions. The topic is a little confusing at first. Why don't you watch that lesson on negative questions, and then if you'd like, you can post your own examples and I can comment? You can post questions/ examples on the community forum on my website. Regards!
Hello Jennifer, One question: Why we cannot asking question like this? Example: Do you like eat? I don't understand. More one time, grateful!
Hello. It's standard in American English to see "family" as a single unit: My family IS big. My family ISN'T here. My family DOESN'T mind noisy neighbors. DOES your family live around here? Kind regards from Boston!
Hi. No, the structure must be: helping verb (do/ does) + subject + LIKE + infinitive Do you like to eat? Do you like to sing? Do you like to dance? Does your sister like to swim? Does your brother like to cook?
I love to watch you jennifer
Hi Jinni thank you for your efforts l learn from you . I want to ask you about this exrcise in the video . The man/have a home office q : does the man have a home office . A : yes he does . My question is when I say dose the man have a home office and I answer this question to say yes he has
@Englishwithjennifer
6 жыл бұрын
Hi again. The helping verbs agree with the subject: I do, you you, he does, she does, it does, we do, they do >> Use these helping verbs to form questions in the simple present (but not with the verb BE). Do you have a home office? Does he have a home office? Does she have a home office? Do they have a home office? Do you like coffee? Do you drink coffee? Does she drink tea? Does she like tea? The short answers use DO/DOES. The long answers are a sentence with the main verb. Does she like tea? - Yes, she does. / Yes. She likes tea. Does he have a home office? - Yes, he does. / Yes. He has a home office.

miss jennifer I want to ask a question please ! when we ask the question "does the man have a home office ?"".. why we don't use "has" instead of "have " ?! thank you.
@Englishwithjennifer
7 жыл бұрын
Hello. In the simple present (with verbs other than BE) we need the helping verb DO/DOES. The main verb will use the base form: Does the man have a home office? [helping verb DOES + subject + main verb HAVE] Do you have a home office? [helping verb DO + subject + main verb HAVE] Does she work from home? [helping verb DOES + subject + main verb WORK] Do they work from home? [helping verb DO + subject + main verb WORK]
@Englishwithjennifer
7 жыл бұрын
Compare: Are you happy? Is she happy? Am I happy? - - These all use the verb BE. We do not need a helping verb.

Halo Jennifer. The content is really good. but, I have a question about "your family" sentence you ask Natasha "Does you family have computer ?" and then Natasha's aswer "Yes, we do have computers". is it special case for "your family" word ? because you as well as you teach, "We - Do". "Does" is only works for He, She and It. I'am looking forward for your feedback. Thankyou Jennifer. Best Regards from Indonesia :)

Hello! In American English, "family" uses a singular verb. Here's a usage note on American vs. British English. www.learnersdictionary.com/definition/family Natasha correctly understands that "family" refers to all the members, so she chooses the pronoun "we" to refer to her family. Q: Does your family have a computer? A: Yes, we do. Hope that helps!

The helping verb must match the verb tense: 1. simple present: Does he like tea? - Yes, he does. (The answer uses the same helping verb as the question.) 2. present perfect: Has he tried green tea? - Yes, he has. I have a series on English Verb Tenses for intermediate and advanced students.
