Lesson 1: Greetings
About this series:
These are REAL lessons. No actors. No scripts. A real learning experience.
Do you know a friend or family member who needs to learn English?
Tell them they can learn along with Natasha as I teach her the basics of the English language.
I will not always be posting captions (subtitles) on these early lessons. I want beginners to develop their listening skills. I will write all important information on the board.
Happy Studies to all!

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words. I'm lucky to have your support. I know many of you are in need of more advanced topics, but I've wanted to make a series for beginners for a long time. I'm grateful Natasha is willing to learn on camera (at least part of the time). Like me, she hopes our video lessons will help others. Please continue to encourage her as we continue our studies. AND for all you upper level students, a new video in the series English for Professionals will soon be ready!

Thank you Jennifer for sharing these helpful videos with us. I have fallen in love with your videos from the first time I watch them. It has opened my mind on how a teacher is supposed to teach his/her students and how a teacher is demanded to build up his/her student's courage to speak no matter what mistake his/her student would make. Moreover, the idea of not positioning yourself as a "teacher", but a "friend" especially in language learning program for non-native speakers is brilliant!
NEW Basic English playlist (2019) kzread.info/dash/bejne/X2x71LJvk9a1gNI.html Start with Lesson 66.
I'm glad you are watching. Please enjoy the 65 lessons in this playlist. More lessons to come!
Hello. I hope your mother will watch the rest of these lessons. There are 65. I hope to make more. The format is simple, and Natasha's humble performance should inspire others to try. Kind regards to you both!

Because it's interesting to see someone learn what you know so well. Then we're forced to consider why it's so challenging. All you have to do is imagine learning basic greetings in a language with a completely different alphabet. Not only would the words on the board be challenging, but we'd also struggle to make some of the sounds. Think of how difficult this lesson would be for you and me if the teacher were teaching us Hindi, Finnish, Vietnamese, Arabic, or Cantonese. Natasha is able to smile and laugh in every lesson. She has a sweet disposition. In any case, I'm glad you stopped by. Thanks!

JenniferESL Hi, I am a beginner in learning English, Are these lessons provided using British English or American English.
Many of you may have a higher level of English than Natasha does at the present time. I invite you to write your words of encouragement for her. :) Thank you! Happy studies to all!
Hello! I hope to make Lesson 66 in the fall. Natasha and I needed to take a break, but we want to continue. You can use the playlist on Vowels Sounds in English or other videos marked "intermediate." I think you should also look for my lesson on the flap T in my English Pronunciation playlist. That will explain how Americans say words like "little." You might also like the site USALearns (.org). Regards!
Natasha is beginner,I'm too.Her effort is my motivation.Thank you and Natasha

Wagner jesus da conceicao Thank you for studying with me, Wagner. :)
There are different methods, and this is what worked for Natasha. What you see on camera is a lot of the spoken practice we did. Especially as the weeks went on, we did a lot more off camera. Last fall I had Natasha focus on reading and vocabulary. We've had to take a break for the past couple of months. Hopefully, we'll start again soon. Good luck in your own teaching!
Hello Ms. Jennifer!I'm an English teacher from the Philippines. 'm glad that I found your channel! I love your videos. I recommend these to my ESL students. I want them to watch and gain more knowledge about English. In my class, I focus on speaking and listening (interactive and communicative) with some grammar and vocabulary so I think it's better for them to learn useful expressions and grammar structures from your videos. More power to you! RIAN from the PH
Great video lessons!Thank you Jennifer! It's simple and very helpful!
Natasha and I appreciate the support. Our efforts are genuine. :)
When there's a need to learn another language, the first step can be the hardest. :)

Excellent youtube resources. I kindly suggest all of you when you have a grammar doubt to go and check teacher Jennifer's videos She has an incredible talent explaining difficult things and make them easy to understand. Good night folks!
Thank you for the support, Evelyn. Natasha's family moved some distance away from me. We got up to Lesson 65. I hope we might still make more videos together. We'll see. Kind regards! PS - Please feel welcome to visit my WordPRess blog for teachers. Often there are direct links to related posts in the video descriptions.

Hello Carlo. Well, judging by your writing, this series with Natasha is a bit easy for you, but review never hurts. :) You can use the Language Notes series not only for content, but also for listening and speaking practice. Soon I'll turn my attention back to punctuation with my English Writing Skills playlist. I'd recommend those videos for you. Please remember I have more videos and review exercises on my website. Regards!
