Sonia Congress is completely in a mess. There is probability that Rahul is not going to win in any of the two constituencies. If Rahul is confident of winning Waynad, why is trying his luck also at Raebareily, especially when Sonia is not sure of winning that seat and Rahul having less rapport with voters there than his mother. It amounts wasting of public money. This election put Sonia Congress in predicament. Suppose if assumed, Rahul wins both the Seats, he has to leave any of them. If he retain Waynad, he is back-stabbing Raebareily and loose their base forever. Or if he retains Later seat, he become namakharam and back-stabber fr Waynad. On both counts Rahul/Sonia and Congress party are loosers.

Simple theory: Rahul wins Rae Bareli and then retaining Waynard, gives Rae Bareli back to Priyanka. And BJP lost it mojo in Amethi as they have to talk about development and not Gandhi family. Pretty cooll political strategy. Smriti Irani lost her main rival.
