It is actually a bit magic in how I found the koran also ( not in arabic but translated). I will share it. I was when I was about 17 years, my library School had a cleansing ( about twenty years ago), and all books that hadnt been borrowed was thrown in a big..what do I say..a big thing.. To be thrown away. And I like to read so I was in this garbage box, it was all piled up and I was digging for treasures. Carried home loads of book that Day, included the koran. I have had it for many years and all the other books I found that Day are gone..but this book has never left me. But I was never able to read it.. I did not get it. Until Now. Its like every word hits my heart, and I believe that it is truly a holy book. And i believe it is a bit magical how it came to me and how I was not able to read it before i was ready. Off course I know I may sound crazy...maybe we are all crazy..only God knows...

DEUTRONOMY 13:8,9 in Christianity , it's also death to someone who leaves Christianity. show me a verse in the Quran, which is against science. its not wise to form your opinions from western media propaganda. think for yourself, why do you let the television do the thinking for you. if western culture is so advanced then why does the following exist within it...teenage pregnancy, dumping parents in old age homes, resorting to alcohol to find happiness, paedophilia, racism, abortions, drugs and gambling, domestic violence, allowing rich homosexuals to buy children ,detaining without charge,The above phenomenon is definitely not what a civilised society looks like . .Most leaders of Muslim countries are puppets of western governments. Western democracies are responsible for war mongering around the world. interest debt imposed by western 'civilised 'democracies has been causing hunger and starvation upon many poor countries. let's talk fact and not hate against the world's greatest religion ..Islam. Islam is your salvation. .because it keeps the commandments of God.

+berrissoul belaid I'm sorry but I fail to see any blessings coming from Islam. I see Muslims killing Muslims in the name of Allah day in and day out. It's been like that since Islam was founded. Nothing seams to have changed. No developements in any area, lag in science, lack of human rights, lack of prosperity. Illiteracy and poverty are the hallmarks of most Muslim societies. Please do not blame it on the Western countries because the lag has been going on for way too long. I also fail to see Islam as a religion because it manifests as a political movement. God bless you.

Muslim science and astrology made it [possible for the US NASA successes. Surprise you? well do a little reading about the history of medicine. Get an education, you will be glad you did. Do you know that to be muslim you have to accept Jesus as a messenger of God- just like Muhammed?. Religion is not bad, it is the followers who practice it badly. Hope I help you some.

Well, we know that this lady is agnostic and not a Muslim, but she is a human being !! And she used her right as a human to ask and search and doubt and read and analyze fairly.. And she made her own conclusion about it, no matter if she was wrong or right, but this is exactly what Allah/God wants from all of us through Quran, the straight speech of the almighty to our minds. He invites you to use your brains and hearts, forget about the almost two billions of Muslims and what does the mainstream media is telling about them, just go listen from the Quran itself & don't hear about it, talk to several muslims and don't just hear about them.. you will find that no one is forced to enter Islam, and you will find all the answers to your infinite questions. Just be fair and don't confuse between this or that, and then you can you say whatever you understood or concluded. Just let us be respectful and don't harm each other by insulting comments. Let we all meet in a middle point..Let we live in peace with each other..If you are not a Muslim like me, then you are my brother/sister in humanity. Salam/Peace/Paix..

Underdawgification I'd like to ask you the same about the KKK and the LRA and the inquisitions and the crusaders before.. How is this gods way? But NO !! we Muslims are not totalitarians.. And we in the fact are the first victim of terrorism before you, if by numbers of died people or by the total destruction of our countries. And i dare you give me ONE SINGLE name of a terrorist group or organization before the western imperialist colonial invasion to the Mideast. So please don't come to me and open this painful topic while pretending that you don't know and want me to justify you the acts of the people YOUR GOVERNMENTS found & funded and armed and still supporting till this moment.. Please !! And if you are talking about the wahhabis and their fellows, we are fighting them day and night if by weapons or by education and refuting their satanic corrupted ideology and there are already hundreds of books about this issue. It is not our guilt that your mainstream media is brainwashing you and blinding your eyes. Please don't open this topic because it hurts me more than you imagine. I wonder when it comes the day when we put the hand in hand (whatever our beliefs and backgrounds) and stand against what is happening to our world from all the sides. And by the way, the real terrorists are hidding under suits and fake smiles, and the smell of petrodollars is filling them. Peace !

And when i say Zionist i am not talking about all the Jews. I have Jews and Christian friends, and here in my country thousands of Jews come every year to pray in a synagogue that belongs to 2000 years ago.. X Muslim Islamism is a French word that belongs to Voltaire and has nothing go do with the religion to which 1.7 billions of people believe in from EVERY corner and race around the world. And terrorism is a dark agenda used by the "powerful" minority against the peaceful and weak majority.. It came from the verb "to terror", neither from Islam or Christianity or even Atheism.

It is not religion that causes the wars and disruptions in human life. It is the "not following religions perfectly" Because if we did follow - any religion - perfectly, we would be peaceful and kind to our neighbours and we wouldn't be arrogant or power hungry. These are all human qualities that ALL religions try to moderate, if not eradicate. The world went wrong when mankind was introduced into it.

You can't just read 1 ayat out of context. You need to read the other ayats around it. So rather than I explain it, read ayats 1-10. And then google this and read the history around it. It wasn't just said that for all time until the last day we should slay unbelievers. You read what you want to see if you don't read around it. Charles Manson did his hideous crimes because he found parts of the Bible which he believed told him to.

9:5-6 But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah. and then escort him to where he can be secure. That is because they are men without knowledge. Having presented the verse in context, we can analyze it properly. Dr. Maher Hathout gives an explanation on the historical context of the verse: This verse was revealed towards the end of the revelation period and relates to a limited context. Hostilities were frozen for a three-month period during which the Arabs pledged not to wage war. Prophet Muhammad was inspired to use this period to encourage the combatants to join the Muslim ranks or, if they chose, to leave the area that was under Muslims rule; however, if they were to resume hostilities, then the Muslims would fight back until victorious. One is inspired to note that even in this context of war, the verse concludes by emphasizing the divine attributes of mercy and forgiveness. To minimize hostilities, the Qur’an ordered Muslims to grant asylum to anyone, even an enemy, who sought refuge. Asylum would be granted according to the customs of chivalry; the person would be told the message of the Qur’an but not coerced into accepting that message. Thereafter, he or she would be escorted to safety regardless of his or her religion.

Baji Scipio Dārayav Aurelius Julian Venizelos Nalwa , Pew Research Center said "Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world and is expected to outstrip Christianity by the end of the century. The number of Muslims will grow more than twice as fast as the world's population from now until 2050. Religious switching, which is expected to hinder the growth of some other religious groups, is not expected to have a negative net impact on Muslims. Between 2010 and 2050, Christianity is projected to have a net loss of more than 60 million adherents worldwide through religious switching."

I guess you could credit her for granting access to the Prophet for a lot of people who do not know much about him. I just wish she had been fair to the Prophet(pbuh & hp) in relating us his biography and had chosen somebody other than ibn-Ishaq as a reference for traditions relating the events and people of the time. I had to look up explanations from the Shiite perspective to find out what actually happened because ibn Ishaq being influenced by the jews of the time did not accurately describe situations or events that arose during the time of the Prophet(pbuh & hp).

Respect. I'm Muslims, and I've made several Jewish friends throughout my university years. They have been nothing but decent, respectful folk. The prophet (pbuh) lived in Madina amongst Christians/Jews/Pegans in peace. They even came to his to settle disputes as well as leave money with him when they traveled. The prophet also borrowed money from a Jewish man once. Don't blame the religions, but the corrupt/greedy people who unfortunately run the world and pit us against each other. Peace!

When ever you have a theocracy, which is what Islam strives to be, you are destined for a forced belief system. Religion is based on faith specifically because it cannot provide proof. Therefore a theocracy must compel it's citizens to to adopt the faith of choice and to accept the faith even though it cannot be defended with evidence. This is a society that at it's core simply cannot escape the shackles of mysticism and magical thinking because it cannot place evidence above faith without undermining the religion and the government. We see thought crimes and heresy and other irrational crimes inflicted on the non-Muslims in every single Islamic lead country. I know that separation of church and state is a uniquely US paradigm but the evidence shows that in all religiously run governments you do not see the citizens being encouraged to adopt diversity and new and different religions. This by the way is not unique to Islam
