Modern day people think cops are just butlers or problem solvers, for example, people literally calling the police because their McDonald’s order was wrong, yes that happens. The police are there to enforce the law and to protect the public.

the biggest problem here seems to be that immature people using the police as mediators to get what they want from one another is a bad idea

In GA, don't call the police on anyone you've ever lived with unless it's necessary - especially if any sort of aggression was shown or any piece of property was damaged in the process (even if you damaged your own things). They/you will definitely get locked up in GA. If it's a simple spat or argument and you know it'll most likely blow over, go your separate ways for a bit because if GA gets involved it's most likely gonna end like this. Also, if you're from out of state good luck with bailing someone out without a GA ID/License.

From experience , I can tell he knew before that it was a dv case when he first asked about the phone, he wasn’t gonna entertain it because the suspect wasn’t there at first. Due to the suspect coming back and him not wanting to deescalate the situation by talking to both, he decided to just go the arresting route. Hence the reason he asked about the phone. Even the black officer knew, and when the white officer brought it up he already knew which route he decided to take and he signed in disappointment when he said the state takes over.

I wouldn't know what that is like. After 20 years of being with someone very much like this lady's friend I am permanently scarred. I can never ever entertain the notion that people are not all like this. I am absolutely exhausted. He is like this now still and we are divorced but co-parenting. He sulks, he whines, he whinges, he takes and takes and makes me feel like crap. I am simply done.

As a lesbian I can confirm our relationships are very dramatic, very amazing when they’re good and very bad when bad but we aren’t all behaving like these two

One of the things I resonated with is the arrested girl being hurt over empathizing with her girlfriend’s trauma not knowing the entire time she was cheating on her.. with MEN. I went through this a few years ago and fortunately for me I wasn’t the one arrested, but I acted a damn fool over that hurt when I could have I just walked away. Trauma bonding isn’t love. It’s manipulating an emotional connection to fill a void that’s self serving. You only end up hurting yourself.

These cops are completely full of shit, it was not that serious to arrest this girl. They didn’t stop until they found a reason to do so, it’s under their discretion. The girl was very cooperative so that let’s me know that they react off emotions. That wasn’t right I don’t care what anybody says. The cops could have let that go with a warning to both. The judge will dismiss it anyway 🤷🏾‍♀️

And I never understand WHY women and men accept this type of abuse from significant others 🤷🏽‍♀️You steal my car, you are going to jail, steal my ID you are going to jail, try to assume my identity, break my property, YOU ARE GOING TO JAIL PERIOD! If I call officers to the sceneI expect someone to GO TO JAIL. Don’t beg the cops to not take her to jail, they came they thought it was over and you continue to try and get this person off the hook, why? She stole your ID, she threw your keys to keep you from leaving, clearly she is angry , but you don’t want her to go to jail. STOP WASTING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE STATES TIME!

It was refreshing to see everyone involved handle the situation with calm conversation. The officers did what they had to do, a lot of people don't get that they have to make a report to each call and the situation fell under domestic violence laws. Someone was going to jail even if the officers had wanted to let her go. Officers are bound to the laws.

My pops was a cop and you would not believe how many people would habitually call the police to settle petty relationship issues but insist they didn't want to press charges. Don't involve the county if you don't want the county to handle your problems for you.

Side note Samira is very co-operative, clear and concise. The two Officers? One is clearly a Rookie and the other Officer is so calm, instructive and patient with the whole situation. Definitely a teachable moment for the Rookie.
