Truth be told its unlikely the old boy had heard much of slashes work, they came from very different generations. But Les Paul just loved music, and was always happy to let a young pup have some limelight, so lots of respect from the old boy, and obviously a guy like Slash would have revered Les Paul.

Hi Chris, I live in SE Wisconsin and drive through Waukesha from time to time. Been a big Les fan since childhood as my parents had Les Paul & Mary Ford albums (I have them now). 'Had to go to the museum when it opened. Speaking of Waukesha, are you familiar with Wisconsin's other electric guitar virtuoso, Greg Koch? He is a phenomenal player of multiple genres. Must be something in the local water to produce such talent over multiple generations. If it wasn't for the eleventh hour, I wouldn't get anything done.

What a musical goldmine this collection is of all of Les`s pals joining him onstage. Not only is it loose and filled with funny banter, there are musical moments that are truly heaven on earth to me. He adapts to whatever playing around him. Fantastic ear for music and can play the fuck out of some blues. Slash is sooo diverse.. At one time he will give you hard rock, but at the same time he can play the blues. He is everything i love about guitar players
See, Slash...he get’s it 😎 he plays to match his group and the song. He let’s Les shine and shines himself as well. And he plays what’s being played while he’s in it. Versatile of course, but that’s a big part of what being a true musician is all about. Well done fellas, and you can tell they really enjoyed that moment. 🤘👍
Sweet symphony of sound! Never realized Slash had it like that. You can tell they admire each other. Les is so happy. That 5:10-5:13 mark was righteous!

Truth be told its unlikely the old boy had heard much of slashes work, they came from very different generations. But Les Paul just loved music, and was always happy to let a young pup have some limelight, so lots of respect from the old boy, and obviously a guy like Slash would have revered Les Paul.
The best I ever heard Slash play. He's also clean and doesn't have 100w Marshall Jubilees set on eleven. With GNR he had to go with the flow, but we're hearing his real playing here. Good job Slash, and in front of a legend!!!
two different generations of greats, vibing together. i like how slash is pretty much ignoring the crowd and actually looking at les and his hands.
My mom sings and her husband plays blues guitar. They both had the opportunity to perform on stage with Les at his club a few years before his passing.

Parker Jansen what the fuck is the point in you sounding like a smart-mouthed pre-teen? I said "post-seventies" meaning 80's, 90's, 2000's, and present. Post-seventies means anything that came AFTER the 70's. That includes eras past the 80's as well. So yes, that's the point in me saying "post-seventies". Get it?

One of the best Les Paul and guest videos on here . They lock in and stay locked in .
Before Les started losing dexterity and motion in his hands and fingers he was amazing to watch play. His style was incredible and you can say he was an early precursor to shredding.

Real magic happens at times that couldn't be captured in any other way but through raw unrehearsed performances such as these. Thanks for these uploads. Pure gold!

i agree, a lot of people say slash is an overrated player because he doesn't sweep or shred like eric johnson for example (not bashing eric), but he plays with such feeling and he plays how he feels and his sound is recognisable the first note he plays. i've turned on the radio before and snakepit was playing, and although i didn't recognise the song i knew straight away it was slash.

I've been on a few forums or vidoes where Slash gets panned a lot. Seems like its the cool thing to do, but having grown up with GNR and seeing him play, we are lucky to have him in our generation. He's one of the best to hit the seen post british invasion for sure.
Les Paul was a music visionary. Slash plays so respectfully and holds back and simply plays in the pocket with Les. Slash = pure class here.
If I can be have as pleasant and fun Les is at that age I’ll be happy. What a fantastic brilliant man. Just a joy to be around. Not many people like around anymore.

Thanks a lot for this upload. I have to admit that when it comes to Slash playing blues I prefer when he plays with BB King in Royal Albert Hall.
A legend and a living legend! RIP Mr Les Paul! 🕶
what a guitarist les was! never mind his innovations for a second but just his knowloedge on the guitar and the low impedence pickups he used and just his sound note selection... amazing, would be no slash eddie van halen , jimmy page etc without him

Rare slash, killin' the blues
The thing I like most about Les Paul, is that he’s the greatest guitarist ever and invented the les Paul guitar and yet he isn’t fretting over some 59 burst, he seems much more practical
3 Les Paul's and slash
Amazing in every way
Les's guitar is gorgeous...😋 thank you for making your guitar for the rest of us.
Love it!
The gods of guitar😍 i love this!!
slash with three les paul.
Les was truly havin a good time in this clip, that didn’t always happen 😳. Lots of fun to watch, Slash has a good blues background that translates well to his rock playin. He was taking Les back to the old days when he would burn up the neck.
Amazing music :-)
And this is why I love Slash as a player. He solos enough just to compliment the song. He doesn’t feel the need to put a 10 minute shred fest over everything. He adapts to whatever playing around him. Fantastic ear for music and can play the fuck out of some blues. And I hope for the love of God before he died, Slash actually made Les sit on his lap like a guitar and took a photo of himself ‘playing’ him. That would be the ultimate ‘Slash playing a Les Paul’ photograph……
Sounds so relaxing...😎
This is just toooooo beautiful - love it!!!!
Holy shit I could listen to that all night
