God on high Hear my prayer In my need You have always been there He is young He's afraid Let him rest Heaven blessed. Bring him home Bring him home Bring him home. He's like the son I might have known If God had granted me a son. The summers die One by one How soon they fly On and on And I am old And will be gone. Bring him peace Bring him joy He is young He is only a boy You can take You can give Let him be Let him live If I die Let me die Let him live Bring him home Bring him home Bring him home.

Wow. A totally selfless prayer, prayed from the gut and pulls at my heartstrings. "God be merciful and bring him home. He's just a young boy - could have been my son." 😢🙏🏽

I'm hoping that this comment might become a time capsule like some of my others have. Currently, refugees are fleeing Ukraine, and some of the men are staying behind. The photos of families saying good-bye are as heart-wrenching, and this soundtrack just reminds me that history seems to repeat. Beautiful music.

if you attend the Broadway in the States, most often the cast would perform in their American accents. But if you were to go to London and watch the London Broadway, they'd sing it in their own English accents. Frankly, I've always felt it apt for Broadway casts to sing in English accents. :)

In the Musical, the character, jean valjean, joins a revolutionary group of students who are barricaded in a street in Paris, to save one of the young men, who is also his adopted daughter’s new boyfriend... they expect the rebellion to be suppressed by the police/army soon. Hence the expectation of peril to come (that’s the simple version)
