Lera Lynn probably said it best when she said, "The most successful and lasting artists let inspiration steer them, not genre or marketing pitch. I'm just doing what moves me as it comes." This refreshing approach to creating music has ironically lead her to be the focal point of exactly that; people trying to categorize her music. And Lera just loves to keep 'em guessing. For Lera, the days of restrictive rules for creativity and what exactly defines a certain genre of music, particularly country, are gone. Her sophomore LP, "The Avenues" made Rolling Stone Magazine's "Top 40 Country Albums of 2014", while also receiving rave revues from NPR and American Songwriter Magazine. Her recent national debut on "The Late Show With David Letterman" was validation of her musical instincts and certainly the icing on her tasty limited edition, white vinyl cake.
