What collusion between the maestro and his instrumentalists (klezmer clarinet, orchestra solo violin), between instrumentalists themselves, to enjoy beautiful sounds and beautiful music together !! That’s really love and music together !!

The music is endlessly evocative, and was played with the sincerity & professional seriousness it so well deserved. Not a moment of "Schmaltz" or " saccharine" in it. You all know the story, which has been told dozens of times (BTW, I deliberately did not look up the story of the film "Spring Fly" so it's what I feel, not what I know): The old comic who complains to his wife and family that he has horrible pain in his stomach, but does it as a comedy routine, and they laugh, believing his comedy. Suddenly he no longer can perform, and on his deathbed tells his wife in a croaking whisper, "Please put on my tombstone below my name: 'I told you I was very sick,' and he dies in his wife's arms. Or perhaps a stone statue of The Happy prince, who asks a swallow to pluck off pieces of his golden armor to help the poor, and finally, one harsh winter, gives the exhausted swallow permission to pluck the sapphires out of his eyes, thus leaving him blind. He's happy to hear the swallow sheltering at his feet even though the swallow dies at his feet. A few days later, the city removes the gray, ugly statue to the city dump [Oscar Wilde, "The Happy Prince"]. Or the dog who'd saved dozens of soldiers from stepping on enemy mines. Finally he's released back to his family [who donated him "patriotically," to the military] and a month later, he's run over outside his backyard when a careless truck driver backs up and injures the war hero. The dog must then be put down to relieve him from his awful pain. And on and on. This music would tug at our heartstrings if it were played in each of these tragedies. Right? Thanks, it was WONDERFUL!
