The Barnack camera solution has been shown as a very good one. It is basic, compact and functional. It defined the genre. And as much as I dislike the aura of Leica I am glad to pick mine up because it works. Consistently. That means a lot.

I am an avid collector of Barnack and Barnack style cameras. I find that the Leotax and Nicca tend to be more reliable over time as compared to the Leica iii models. Most of the issues that I have is with the faster speeds on the cameras. I am able to go as fast as 1/200th of a second, but 1/500th is many times a challenge. The Leotax is a well-made camera. Unlike, Nicca, Leotax went out of business and was not acquired.
