They let down their guard simply because they outnumbered him. They weren’t expecting such a bold attack. Also the cameraman had one job.

They got overconfident and thought they could bully him with strength in numbers. They never thought he would be this cunning, quick and bold at the same time.

He just showed who's the real gangster.
