Oh this is great!! I saw one of her paintings last year at a surrealist exhibition and it was my absolute favourite out all of the artwork on display! I shall have a closer look now at the photographs I took...the title is: Again the Gemini are in the orchard. I was utterly captivated by it and wonder now if I was put under some kind of a spell! I kind of hope so lol I remember seeing the word Salt in tiny writing amongst other things and wondered what the significance of that was and now it's making more sense in regards to magic...plus the Tarot card for Gemini is the magicianl! Such an intriguing woman!

This is so interesting! Unfortunately the video cuts off abruptly. I would love to see the end of this talk. Is it available?

She fled the oppressive colonists and could only thrive in the freedom offered by Mexico. Britons crowning influence was in subjecting her to an asylum and being the place she needed to flee.

Has she ever wrote a book about Leonora's life and artwork? She knows a lot of details about Leonora's life and work! Are you considering making a presentation about Remedios Varo too? That would be great!

The speakers name is Teresa Arcq (curator) and she is one of the authors of the "Surreal Friends: Leonora Carrington, Remedios Varo and Kati Horna", "In Wonderland: The Surrealist Andventures of Women Artists in Mexico and the United States", "The Five Keys to the Secret World of Remedios Varo" (new edition of which should be out this year, I think) and most recently "The Tarot of Leonora Carrington", which is unfortunately out of print already, but should be back in stock soon.
