I'm a 66yr old L&F junkie. They have recaptured the sound of Chicago to point it has filled a void in so many lives that we have longed to hear again for decades. My wife does not understand the obsession and wonders where this teenager attitude comes from but those like me can't get enough of them.

My husband doesn't understand, which is a bit funny, because he is the person who turned me on to Chicago. He had a Chicago record collection, which I started listening to after we met, @ 1978. I am a L&F junkie too, love the music, and the joy they show while performing.

Leonid is a musical genius...with a great sense of humor.

I always mention the love and humility that this band exudes. And in their humility, I do not think they know how many hundreds of thousands of people come every week to watch them play and listen to them online. During this stressful time, after prayer, I find them and listen to them and my soul feels calm and at peace. I hope they know how special they are to the American people. Sincerely, Carly 💜 Leonid and Friends have helped me go through my husband passing away unexpectedly and me finding out I have cancer. Music is a gift that is shared. A universal language of Hope and joy. Much love to Leonid and all of his friends.

They are equally engaging on stage as they are here. We saw L&F in Pennsylvania in July of 2019. Go see them, it is well worth it! :)

I've been following Leonid & Friends since March (?) of 2020, and I was totally impressed by their covers. Hell, they sound much better than the original groups. So, thank you Manopause for this great interview, you guys did a great job. By the way, I've heard that the beautiful Ksenia got married recently. So, yes, she left a lot of broken hearts out there. Cheers to everybody.

My wife and I had dinner with another couple on Friday evening, Dec. 18. While catching up and talking about 'life' my friend Keith mentioned he had been scanning KZread and discovered a Russian Band who covers Chicago. He sent me the link and later that evening, I watched (I've Been) Searching For So Long. Yup, I am now a HUGE Fan! When they tour again (post pandemic) I'm going to their concert!

After the drummer, the guitarist grabbed my attention.

I’m so inspired! I feel so happy watching when watching this band ! They also have the happiest violin section ever!

I love them!!!! They are better than phenominal!!!❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Leonid is HOT! And so talented. All of these guys are amazing musicians. And no sheet music??? WOW. I don't know what to rave about...the drummer, the brass section, the guitarist, the keyboardist, the singers....all great! I haven't stopped listening to their music since I found them. Chicago and EW&F are my era. This music brings back so many memories.

These Guys are AMAZING. No other band can sound like Chicago like LEONiD

Please do not forget your SAfrican Chicago fans.In Cape Town we have the yearly C.Town Jazz Festival .It will be a groove to have the band on our stages.

We saw them in Portland Oregon in November 2019, and honestly it ranks in the top five concerts I have ever been to. They are amazing! Thanks for having them on.

Thanks Larry and Mike . Leonid is an amazing man . I love his passion and his philosophy . I am 62 years old , and I feel the same way as Leonid with regard to music . Music is actually the only thing in my life that never broke my heart .

Leonid please come to Canada. I think you find that your Canadian fans will come out to see you. Your band is amazing and your music brings back great memories and times. Please keep us in mind, we would love to have you here and listen to your music!!

Leonid and Friends play all these old songs as Well if not better than the original groups. Maybe it's the videos and new ways of mixing but I love them better than when I was young. Just maybe it is Leonids love of the music that is shinning through and is making us love them. All I know is I absolutely love these guys

I flew to Milwaukee to catch their gig 2 weeks ago. They brought the house down.

I absolutely Love this band such great, beautiful human beings who just want to be free and follow there dreams (and Rock Out 🤪).

I came across this podcast while surfing Leonid and Friends videos. Hearing how Leonid started this band and his love for music. The part of Leonids story that had me intrigued, was how he wrote the music for each instrument strictly by listening to the music. Like you, i was surfing for music, and the algorithms of You Tube brought me to Leonid and Friends. My first video i saw of theirs was "Beginnings" by Chicago. That lead me to watch "September" by EWF, which is one of my fave songs, which lead me to watch their entire YT Video catalog. I am now a huge fan. I really appreciate this Podcast. Side note: Sergei, the lead singer/guitar player who is in most of the YT videos, channeled Terry Kath.

I wish so much, that I had found this group when I was a little younger and healthier. As it is, I am physically unable to go to a concert, so I will have to enjoy the live performances on youtube. Truly a wonderful set of musicians, who have dedicated so much of their time, to get every single note exactly perfect. Thank you so much, guys, for bringing back the sound of the 70's.

I've been a huge fan of "L & F" for like 3 years now and introduce their music to new people whenever I can. What a great Xmas gift to stumble into this interview, so surprised I never had seen it before. Leonid's personal story and the formation of this extraordinary collaboration are as inspiring and smile-generating as the group's incredible music. At a time when everything in society seems so very wrong, everything they do looks and sounds so very right. You guys did a tremendous job of showcasing their work, uncovering the background, and extending love and respect. God bless to all of you and Merry Christmas. By the way, I've seen "L & F" Live in San Diego and Beverly Hills this month. 10 out of 10, twice!

When C-19 becomes C-41, black smoke fills the California coastal skies from the huge Chinese labor factories and mobile Tortilla Stands, and all of our grandchildren and great-grandchildren are enthusiastically tattooing themselves during their work-breaks at the large industrial marijuana growing facilities where they live and work in Desert Hot Springs, the 'Belly Up Tavern' will remain. Been going there for about 30 years now. Lots of great memories (wish I could say I remembered more!). My best and again, as a professional broadcaster and voice-actor, GREAT WORK!

How about L&F doing half-time at the Super Bowl???

It was by chance that I came across Leonid & Friends while browsing through KZread recently. Their rendition of Chicago's songs is so authentic, it's unbelievable. And as these songs bring back fond memories I listen to them often. The band members are very talented; it's a joy to watch their videos.

Michael McDonald has been loving near Nashville for decades! You must meet him when you come back to Columbia, Tn next year. 2022!

Leonid and Friends hopefuly will come to Mexico City, they are amazing!!

Not so much with Mike. I would say their love of Chicago correlates more to bands like steely Dan and earth wind and fire versus The Beach Boys and some others suggested. So happy they are getting the recognition they deserve. Oh yes, the drummer incredible!

They have to be pretty exhausted with all the road travel between gigs. Loving these people so much...dedication, professionalism, humbleness, plus I've read many posts saying they are kind and wonderful people from folks who did a meet and greet after concerts. They've done much to show how much alike we all are.

Music is indeed so powerful. Thank you for the learning from this interview proofing that music breakthrough every tough rules and even cold wars. @@manopause3814 Just made it through the whole interview. You guys did such a nice job. Great questions, energy, timing, production, etc. I subscribed and will gladly share with my buddies. It sounds like they might have had a song in the works, but great call with the Steely Dan recommendation anyway. I’d never even heard of Leonid until KZread passed along MY Old School a few weeks ago. My jaw dropped, and I now can’t get enough of them. Better late than never. Thanks for the interview.

I miss Kashirin's dynamic performance. New guitarist not on par with Sergei, but does a decent job and is improving. And now Serge has left. But....still the many many positive dynamics of Leonid's group remains intact.❤️

Great interview...I've been following these guys for 3 years...Music made Russia and the U.S more friendly; at least with we young people...Leonid made me Re Appreciate how great Chicago was...I was a teen in the 70's so naturally Chicago spent many years in the music mix...But every group, in that era was great! Every song on FM radio was killer...Thanks for the upload...A little advice from a marketing guru and business man; Manopause is very cringy...It's insulting in a way that's hard to articulate; Pauseforman reads better...Just sayin...:)
