This song always brings me to tears. First marriage lasted 17yrs with her leaving me and our two children we had children late they were still young. Single dad 5 years met the ONE I have been married with for 30 years. Now with kids gone and grandchildren most grown. I found my one to dance to the end of love with and will play this song at our departure. We are truly still in love. I'm 72 she is 66, we still flirt.

Wow, what a song. Who doesn't want to dance to the end of love. I married my husband in four days, we went out on a Tuesday and married on Saturday that week-end. We are still aging together (81 and 76) and I feel like we have danced to the end of love. And since passion turned into love and now love has become stronger, I'm caring for him since he can no longer walk. We'll get there, to the end of love. We have been married for 49 years. It's hasn't been easy but it was worth it. This song runs through the story of our lives.

He was actually a poet. I have all his published collections of poems. It is astounding to say the least. He just chose to set some of his poems to music.

It was very hard to dance with her until the end of love, she died of cancer in 2020 but I am sure that one day we will dancing together again ...and my love will never end!

I saw an interview with Cohen who explained his original inspiration! It was the love the Jewish musicians in the death camps showed when they played music for the Jews being marched to the gas chambers. The musicians played the music as a last way of showing their love for their people. Of course , the Germans just wanted to keep them calm so easier to march them to their deaths ! Either way it's a beautiful song!

This makes me so emotional, my husband died 31/12/2001, aged 42. We were together from ages 14 & 16 and married for 18 years. Those were the best years of my life, and I miss him so much. Our two children keep me going thankfully...but it’s been hard all by myself. So proud of the way they turned out and I see my beloved in both my son and my daughter ❤️

My Lord! I discovered this song by accident. I only know Mr. Cohen from "Hallelujah". This was a nice surprise. While listening, l read your post. I understand so well. I can see my late husband through our son. We had been together since we were 23. He died at 49. I'm 57 and it is still hard sometimes. YET l thank God for the time we had. Even the hard years. Two weeks ago my 97 year old father-in-law passed away in his bed as my husband and i were visiting him and my mother-in-law, who was in the bed next to his. She passed away 11 hours later at the age of 93. This was their favorite song in their last years. We played it as my mother-in-law's casket was lowered and placed on top of her husband's. Its 4:39am and there's tear in my eye. Not for the love lost, but for the one here that I have failed to appreciate. My mum got diagnosed of cancer and its been a rough path for her ever since then. Looking at her and reflecting on the years past wets my eyes. She is my superhero. She is strong. I pray she gets strong enough to beat this... life is short folks, dance with your love as often as possible.

I was married for 20 years and single for 20 years and last year married my "Dance me to the end of Love" which was the theme song at our amazing Wedding ....we have a 30 year age difference....but " Life is not a Rehearsal"

I remember my parents dancing on their 60th anniversary and it pains me to see that old woman sitting in that single chair. Dad's been gone 12 yrs and Mom is 98. This video gives me chills.

I bought him a poster of Leonard Cohen in the 70's. Was framed and on every wall when he moved house a few times. Through Leonard 's music my brother still lives on in my heart and my soul. 💕💕💕
