The fact that Leon’s charizard is able to one shot a mega charizard who’s beaten 10 megas, went head to head with primal forms, faced a zygarde(50%) and won against Ash-Greninja just hurts. They butchered Alains character and I’m sad😞

Dragon pulse is mega charizard weakness. Two defeats by that move

Rillaboom vs Chestnaut was a great start, but after that it just fell straight down. Doesn't really make sense for Leon's Charizard to defeat MegaZard X that easily, considering that Raihan's Duraludon had a close match with it. And Alain is ranked higher than Raihan... Such a shame, could at least had made MegaZard X tank a few hits

The weird thing thing is Alain’s Charzard has great stamina and durability. It was able to take powerful attacks from Legendary Pokémon and still battle, fight countless mega evolutions back to back, and withstand Ash-Greninja strongest water shrunken. I didn’t care if Alain lost, I cared about a good battle between two good powerful trainers. The writers really wanted to make Leon look more op or they rushed the battle due to time or just bad writing in general.

Alain's Mega Charizard X, did a lot of damage to himself with the Fire Blitz, well that and Leon is in a totally different league, Alain is not even stronger than a regional truck, he is only there to win the tournament of the Pokémon league, in the case of Ash, he defeated the most powerful trainer in Alola, Kukui, who was on par with a regional champion, no matter who Alain fought, he would not have said much to any of the other participants .

I wouldnt be surprised if thats what they were thinking. Seeing how Ash has been this unstoppable Gary Stu since losing the Kalos League, I always thought they were kinda overcompensating. Well the salty fans got what they wanted. Smh. Poor Alain. Couldve done so much more.

@@MCAnimationofficial no he didn't So ash's pikachu getting plot armour and taking attacks from and even beating legendaries and all (which don't make any sense) is fine to you , then plot armour is fine But apparently alain's Charizard taking one attack (and he didn't even take it head on , it was a clash between blast burn and shuriken) that's plot armour to you By d way alain's Charizard have also fought legendaries , 50% zygarde which is way stronger than any legendary pikachu have beaten plus 10 megas in a row without stopping Alain's Charizard has much better feats than pikachu

Hopefully the losers of the Masters 8 stick around to provide for more interactions for Ash if this is truly his final journey

For First Round, yes they will stick around as it happens in same day but subsequent rounds I hope they remain.

The disrespect the writers gave Alain is insane. After battling Groudon & Kyogre & Outpowering 50% Zyguarde most of the time then get one shot by Leon’s Charizards Dragon Pulse. Alain got severely burned & the writers are lazy. They could have had an introduction in ep 115 & the battle in ep 116. I hope that after Ash vs Steven happens, Alain gets a rematch with Leon in the same 3v3 format knowing Alain was not battling with a ready to battle Charizard. The thing is Charizards only losses besides Dragon Accent is from Dragon pulse from Seibolds Mega Blastoice & Alains Charizard. We know Leon should win but not like this & I hope the other battles are going to be good.

They finally added my boy Hop into the anime only to have him nerfed in his debut, seriously they should have added him earlier in the series so he would have been a lot more experienced like in the game. And did they seriously just nerf Alain as well? Sigh but honestly it’s kind of understandable cause Leon was pretty frustrating in the game, he was more difficult than Cynthia. But Alas looks like we won’t be seeing Alain and ashes rematch anytime soon fellahs.

Infernape with its fire aura alone was able damage and send Gengar flying in the previous episode. Power cliffing is a bitch but it’s to be expected in a piece of media where battling ever growing threats is the norm.

1) Chesnaught Vs Rillaboom, the only thing that would change would be that Leon would not use his G-Max, Rillaboom is able to defeat Chesnaught, in his normal state. 2) Charizard Vs Rillaboom, the only change would be Alain Mega Evolucionaria, as soon as he entered the field. 3) When Leon sent out his Charizard, Alain would switch to his Mega Charizard X, for Tyranitar, Leon's Charizard would use Focus Blast and defeat Tyranitar in one hit. 4) Mega Charizard X would enter the field and Leon would substitute his salamander, with Haxorus, Mega Charizard X would defeat Haxorus. 5) Leon would bring out his Charizard and use G-Max and one-hit Mega Charizard X, using G-Max Depletion.

Its been a while but people keep forgetting about Charizard used Flare Blitz twice. One shotting Rillaboom with Flare Blitz is insane. Because its one of Leons mains. Imagine how much recoil it did to Alains Charizard. He used secodn Flare Blitz and fell to Dragon Pulse. People forgetting about recoils and seeing it fell down to one shot.

Makes zero sense not to have Alain and Ash have a rematch and instead feed Alain to plot armored Leon. Quite possibly the most memorable blemish on Ash's pokemon league career and they choose not to let him get his revenge and show his growth since then. Writers dropped the ball hard on this one.

Ash's defeat in Kalos is one of the most infuriating outcomes in recent history (not saying this as just a "me" thing but lots of people share this feeling, and well, me too, but not "just me" xD ). If nothing else, that was the ideal setup to cause a rematch here. It'd help close down that chapter for the fans of the XY series, showcase Ash's growth as he moves on to fight other champions, and very much send off Alain with some dignity like they did with the other previous rivals that have made cameos here. This was a very precious window of opportunity that was just wasted, probably because the writers wanted to subvert expectations or some crap. Obviously Ash himself has no feelings of revenge to speak of, they are very sportsman-like here..... narratively speaking though (for the fans of the show), it was simply the way to go to have the rematch, and the idea that Alain was gonna become food for Leon's team but at least give out a good fight was already people comforming and making do best with what they were dealt with..... It is kind of sad, thought not super surprising..... to me the Alola league was almost like a meme compared to previous leagues so Ash winning it without a full team, with his friends entering without any sort of "earning" procedure like beating trials or such, Guzma's Scissor moment, etc..... You can at least see where that side is coming from, right? even if you agree with the course of the anime so far.

@@wikiuser92 It wouldn't change the outcome of the Kalos winner we got years ago, but the anime has always insisted in being a chronological continuation of the previous regions so it isn't detached from the Ash from back then. As part of the same story, it deserved the rematch. It'd change things knowing that after the XY series, said rematch were to have existed down the road. So in a way it WOULD change things, just not in the manner of changing history obviously.

Fans upset that Leon's BASE Charizard beat a Mega Charizard X with an impressive resume. First of all, I get it...we really love Alain's character and he is a fan favorite, but his Charizard HAS TO Mega evolve just to reach the skill level and power of Leon's Charizard. Let's not forget that Leon's Charizard, in BASE, can go toe to toe with Eturnatus. That is IMPRESSIVE. Now, of Leon had waited to use his Gigantamax, Alain's Mega Charizard X would have NO CHANCE of beating Leon's GMax Charizard. Oh yeah, Leon has that OP Plot Armor that Ash is trying to get.

But i do need to say the battle wasn’t that spectacular i mean i know myself the journeys battle animation is bad but it didn’t look epic like the old fights from the older gens. But what can i do about it. Im happy leon won now hoping ash wil battle him at last! Edit: well i still keep with the opinion that the battles in journeys aren’t that cool like the older seasons. @@Ratedsuperstar4497 Thats not the issue here man. Everyone and their mother knows Alain wouldve and shouldve lost. But the manner in which he lost is the problem. Zard X took on back to back 10 megas which included an Elite Four at the end. He also beat Ash Greninja who in an incomplete form was doing some serious damage to Diantha's Mega Gardevoir. People have an issue with how rushed and lazy the writing was. They couldve atleast had Leon GMax his zard and beat Mega zard x. Having Rillaboom Gmax was a waste of time since it didnt accomplish anything. Heck it beat Chesnaught after reverting back to base.

Secondly he is the World Champion so what? He faced Ash, Lance, Raihan and not a single one of them were one shotted. All of them pushed Leon to his best. And Alain is among those Masters 8 so in no way he is a slouch. So just one shotting his most powerful Pokémon in his strongest form while Leon’s Charizard was still in his base is just bullshit.

@MCAnimationofficial I mean normally true but if u look at Pikachu vs Charizard in the finals, you can see the potential of Journeys animation so they could’ve done something like that. Hell, they could’ve made a plot twist in where somehow Alain beats Leon and Diantha and moves on to the finals to battle Ash (which wouldn’t happen but just a thought).

To people who don't understand how alan's charizard got knocked out in one hit . 1. The move ancient power boosts up all charizard stats by 1 stage 2. Leon's charizard is aldready known to have a better special attacking stat 3. With boosted special attack mega charizard X which is dragon/Fire type can be easily one shotted by dragon pulse which is super effective considering charizard doesn't have the best defences

Mega charizard took 2 dragon pulse ,hydropump and skull bash from a mega blastoise( he has a launcher ability to boosts pulses). Going down in 1 dragon pulse from a normal charizard is just the bad writing.

It was an insanely bad depiction. They did that just to show how “powerful” Leon is, because he one shot the opponents best Pokémon that ash lost to.

They did Alain so dirty... he didn't have to win but he should have at least beaten 2 of Leon's Pokemon and take Charizard to its limit

After seeing how OP Leon’s Rillaboom is, it’s actually really impressive how Alain’s Charizard in base form was able to one shot that beast. Of course, Leon’s Charizard packed two super effective moves afterwards which was unfortunate.

I haven't watched this yet, but since I am really intrigued about this, when I see you uploaded an AMV of their battle, I decided to give it a fast shot. But yeah, this feels like a totally different Alain. Compared to Kalos, he was really badass looking and like the tough-trainer kind of thing, but here he wasn't like that. He's like having inner struggles like stress or trauma messing inside his head that caused him not to channel that inner Alain Kalos self. Either way, I know Leon is undeniably strong, and this tournament is the battle of the strongest trainers, so expect more of this stuff to happen like who's gonna be stronger than one another kind of thing. Ps. I'm not disappointed. It's just I sense Alain is really different here.

Even Steven knew Alain was about to get stomped. And Alain mentioned he dreamed of battling Leons Charizard. Leon is being portrayed as the best, undefeated monarch of all time. Ash being excited to see Mega Charizard brings back memories. But I hate how easily Alain's Charizard was beaten. Seeing Alain's Charizard that beaten some of the greatest champions all around the world and celle Ted so much mega energy and grinded so much just be be dog walked by Leon is heartbreaking

I understand that Leon is ash’s main goal but everyone would have rather seen ash vs Alain. Why didn’t they match ash and Alain up against eachother for the first round. No one actually cares about Steven in this, he’s technically just a place holder. They did Alain so dirty.

It should have been Ash vs Alan and ash getting his Revenge from the Kalos Finals with him bringing back Ash-Greninja and winning. That would have made more sense

@@_SaikatBanerjee_ dude Leon is overhyped in jouneys, sure he is *REALLY* strong, but that first place is Cynthia's not his, he only has the ultra mega undefeated track record so that Galar and him arent portrayed in a bad light, and a new gen champion loosing or being a rank below a champion from 4 gens back isnt necessarily good for his reputation or the region dont you think? Also in the games Leon isnt even the world champion, he is just a regular region champion so that world thing was clearly just to hype him up. Is Leon stronger than Alain? Absolutely yes, but one shot Alain with a non stab dragon pulse in just base form is just ridiculous. Alain beat 10 mega evolutions back to back to back with no rest in between, fought Zygard, fought Primal Kyogre and Primal Groundon *AT SAME TIME* and also fought Mega Rayquaza, while Leon couldnt beat Eternatus and sure, Eternatus in lore is one of the strongest legendaries but he is sure as hell aint stronger than Primal Kyogre and Groudon *COMBINED.* And lets not even mention Mega Rayquaza. Alain is not a rando trainer, he is *REALLY* stronge too and since you like to judge characthers by their ranks them look at Alain's rank, he is is sixth place, so he *IS* strong and his ace wouldnt be beaten by a regular dragon pulse. Alain was just there to hype Leon up, he was nerfed *REALLY* hard and that is evident, you need to be an Leon fan boy to not see that tbh. Oh and for the record i am not an Alain fanboy, i HATE Alain, the boy is really pretty but his battle in the league was pure BS. Also isnt Leon's battles *VERY* convinient? Like just simply dodges Lance's Gyarados and then gigantamaxes and beat Gyarados butt as if him struggling back then wasnt even a thing. Curious huh?

The only way Leon's charizard should beat Alain's is if it gigantimaxed, his zard almost lost to raihans duraladon. Nope na definitely not. Pokémon adds another moment to the "should never happen" category.

I honestly think they needed to make more time for the battle instead of the last few minutes of the episode to make it proper I honestly thought the battle was gonna extend to the next episode because of how little time was left and the match with chesnaught looked so promising but then leon just one or two shots alain's other Pokémon with charizard and the battle ends and let me guess alain is now a background character or he is not gonna appear at all anymore

That's the point, think about it ash spend half of years in kalos just to defeat Alain but failed multiple times.... Meanwhile Leon did it like in 40 seconds, basically setting a Final Boss for Ash to defeat and make him reach his goal of becoming the very best like no one ever was

Ash Galar team is slightly superior to his Kalos team. Lucario is on another level. Dragonite is a great addition. Sirfetchd is very unique in battling. Dravovish is underrated.

Goodra was undefeated before the leauge and only had 1 loss. And greninja is the one pokemon that I would place second best of all of ash’s pokemon.

What a great plot journeys had but writers be like siiikeee you ain't getting a good battles it will be either so boring or rushed

I think the issue is that the battle itself was terrible. There weren't really much exchange blows and most Pokemon just got one shot. It is pretty obvious that the battle was rushed.
