Thanks man!
Great job, Jason - the amp sounds fabulous now! I'm happy for Leon to have such a beautiful and well-refined amp. I would also like to send my '79 JMP 2203 to you, unfortunately it's a bit too far from Germany.
Nice work as always Jase!
Awesome as usual Jason. KILLER TONE out of that amp man !! - And, ... it cleans up really nice too. Thanks for continuing to share the good stuff !! I have been thinking about adding another preamp stage to my '75 1959SLP for some time, .... just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
My man !! I have been waiting for ever to get more info on this amp. I bought one on a chance and I thought it was rare but I had no Idea it was one of 150. The reverb is not so good but I don't use it. It's very good but damn you made it great. I thought I would never see this thank you !

That sounds awesome !... I'll be hitting him up for a play on this one 😁😅
Wooooow
hi i like your expertise , and i want to ask you a question , , Krank amps have a bad reputation as lifleless amps , is that because they have 2 x 100 uf in the power supply ? to stiff ?
What is the difference between Pre and Post Phase Inverter Master Volume? And does a a stock Post Phase Inverter MV Marshall exist?
How would you compare a classic 1959 og José mod to say, cascading the two treble/normal triodes and associated value changes? If someone wants to mod a Marshall preamp what do each style of mod offer? How do they compare?

If you're not bothered about 'blending' the treble and normal channels in parallel, then yeah you can just cascade and get the same outcome.
Nice one!. As always, sick work mate. Do you sleep, or are you still in the US?.

Still in the US, heading home tonight!
Hey Jason, maybe a bit too simple to ask, but what's the best way to jumper a 4-input marshall internally? (EDIT: Just finished the video, found the answer) Is it as simple as connecting the two input leads of the two high channels together? I have a mid 70s 1987 and I feel like jumpering the inputs the usual way (lo bright => normal high) kind of muffles the signal just a little bit, even when the normal channel is turned off. Maybe it's just in my head. EDIT: Also, that power switch is kinda cute.

To jumper internally, you need to connect the grids together at the V1 socket for V1a and V1b, then you only want to have one set of inputs connected.

New output tube quad? What brand did you guys choose?

I’m very happy with the JJ EL34 quads these days
Killer
You could simply parallel the V1 triodes, that should give you a better SNR for the most sensitive amplification stage. You'd still have the gain of the single triode, and it will pull more pre-stage B+ current.

Can but it sounds different, and I don’t like it as much
@nickk6109

True it would. The scary mod also just adds one triode gain+attentuaton after the v1a and cold clipper on the jcm800. It’s good to hear this in comparison. The mod sounds good!
Plans to profile for the qc? 🤓
