Gotta love those Nobel laureate journalists asking "So, can you describe in minute detail how heartbreaking and devastating this is for you right now?" I'm always shaking my head at those questions. Richard Jeni had a great bit about reporters covering people after a catastrophic flood. "So, you're completely fucked. How do you feel right now?" And the other guy's drinking a beer and says "I think the couch looks much better in the gas station." I could never bring myself to ask a guy--even one who didn't score a single goal the entire seven games--in that position such a question. I'd be afraid of getting punched out and the guy saying "LIKE THAT!"

The very last thing he said, one or two shots or flukes going in the net, it’s hard to build up the effort needed next Season when that’s how your mind works at no fault of your own really

How about scoring a goal in the finals?

Leon had a shit Stanley Cup final .. barely skates never hits half the time he comes back and back checks the other half staring at ice. All that aside if dri would have stepped up along with a few others we wouldent be sulking .. great series congrats Panthers

Petty and entitled. If McDavid ever wins the cup in the future and happens also to be the best player in the playoffs that year, he should remember this moment and show the Conn Smythe trophy the same respect that he did last night and refuse the award.

@@virpip3461 Attacking me doesn't change the validity of what I said. That said, I agree it is an important job to commiserate with teammates after a loss. However, it's also important to respect the history of the game. It sucks to have to win the Conn Smythe while losing the cup, but it is distinctly possible he may never win a Stanley Cup. Failing to sack up and come out to receive the award is disrespectful to the namesake of the trophy and previous winners. It's just a bit classless, wrt to hockey, in general.

why comfort yourself, all i know is conor is the greatest loser today

Wow, I think people writing whiny comments on KZread are way more losers than players losing in the Stanley cup finals. Not all players ever get to the finals but all can whine on KZread. Pathetic.
