This may sound corny from a grown up guy like myself but I just heard this performed via live feed at the Democratic convention and after a verse or so, tears starting welling up in my eyes and by the end I was crying. Not only did it make me reflect on racial injustice and the long overdue need for change in this country, but it also made me think of someone I used to work with and considered a friend. I stopped hearing from him and thought it was because he was busy or that it might have something to do with Coronavirus. I eventually learned that he had died of an epileptic seizure. It hit me hard because he was only a year younger than me and always carried himself in a positive manner with a wicked sense of humor. He came to mind as I heard Leon Bridges, who I am a big fan of, sing. I also am thinking of my two sisters, one a nurse and the other a paramedic who are on the front lines during the Covid-19 crisis and I worry about every day. Kyrell Kris Morant Rest in Power and in Peace. Eileen and Mary, I love you both very much and think of you all of the time. To all of those who are dealing with the loss of a loved one or someone recovering from Covid-19, you have my solidarity and support.

My wife is fearful that I can't wake the streets by myself. Said this to me recently after an incident that happen. After listening to this song I realized what was happening to me. Leon Bridges is perfection. 1. I met him thanks to the beautiful interpretation of the song 'River' by Domenic Haynes. I've heard that song a thousand times. It was love at first sight. 2. His songs became a source of inspiration during the writing period of my master's dissertation. 3. I would marry him just to hear him sing every day. 4. He is my soul musical idol and besides being very beautiful. 5. Leon you represent me. 6. 'Sweeter' is another hit, beautiful soul melody to our ears.
