Leobog Hi8 Deep Review: The struggling of Mastery in bottom | Leobog Hi8 深度測評:卷王爭霸

Ғылым және технология

Some people know that I am currently working in strategic planning for a smartphone company. As one of the most competitive products in the market, planning for mobile devices has always made me feel quite helpless. Now, seeing the intense competition in the keyboard field, I can't help but feel a sense of nostalgia.
Finally, I want to express my gratitude to Leobog. Despite my criticism of their products in the reviews, they still generously sent their products for testing. I must say that Leobog truly values user feedback and is a company that is willing to make improvements when mistakes are pointed out.
However, it should be noted that companies that choose not to send their products for testing does not mean that they lack openness. After all, considering the reach and impact of my influence... it is understandable if they choose not to participate. I have no complaints, opinions, or criticisms about that.

I hope so but it is not easy. Many reviewers complained about the tolerance between upper and lower housing in the latest version.

Rainy uses a totally different design approach where its top case covers over the bottom case. For Hi8's construction where its top and bottom case are of the same thickness, I'd say they already did their best with the seams at this price point. If you like it then just buy it and use it, don't mind the seams so much.

@@feres5020 Actually I don't mind the seams because it is too small to be noticed 😅 but I did have the responsibility to point out the issue just in case somebody care😅

Great review! I have no problems with those tiny flaws there on the case part of Hi8 vs Rainy75. I am much more confident taking the Hi8 now. If you have tried the Rainy75 now, may I ask whats your thoughts on its build quality now compared to the Hi8? Thanks

Sorry, I didn't try Rainy 75 at all, but most review that Rainy75 has better build quality. If you really care about build quality, Rainy75 maybe the better pick.

Hey, thanks for the review! On Aliexpress, all of the listings show the black variant with a gold knob with lettering. How can I be sure to get a newer batch with no lettering on knob? I prefer the minimalist look.

I don't know maybe you need to contact with the seller😅. In China, all of the batch is the newer one (but the red anodized version still have the dragon pattern)

The red CNY one should be anodized but not electrophoresis. I didn't test the red one but some review said it is better than the 1st shipment.

So what you're saying is, the more expensive-to-manufacture product was initially released to early adopters fully branded, which are typically the only demographic to actually film product reviews or proactively generate interest in new products through word-of-mouth, and then certain esoteric people had certain esoteric grievances with the branding that causes certain esoteric problems, therefore reducing the manufacturing cost of the item for free, because certain esoteric people don't like it, a situation that has Leobog getting two birds with one stone, selling a cheaper(for them), more minimalist(featureless) case while also being more personified as a commercial entity for listening to consumer feedback, while still having easily recognized branded items in virtually all videos with this item. Of course, it's just theory. Marketing theory, if you will.

@@odinblog I'm sorry-- I wasn't suggesting that you are somehow complicit or involved with whatever's going on. I'm sure that what you've said are actual statements that have been made and that you're just reporting on them. I just personally don't believe it. I don't believe that they've just decided on this drastic repeated redesign on a very freshly launched product for such frivolous reasons, especially on a product that appears to be selling very well. Doubly so since those stated reasons were among the biggest complaints for the Hi75, you'd think they'd make those changes at the planning stages for the new product if it was that much of a genuine concern to them. I can't say I definitively know why they changed it, maybe cost, maybe product turnover rate, maybe QA, who knows, but I'm willing to bet that it wasn't some moment of genuine reflection over grassroots consumer complaints.

@@odinblog Besides, $100 for just the case and board is not exactly "low budget." It's the cheapest offering for a high-end "luxury" keyboard that is still a lot more expensive than most keyboards, even mechanical gaming keyboards, and those are all full of branding even at $50 for a full keyboard. It's wrong to say that having branding is somehow arrogant on their part. It's just not. Or if it was, it would be equally arrogant of Rainy75. All of these keyboards are high-end keyboards. I know you can go well past $500 for one of these, but that's a small demographic, even among mechanical keyboard enthusiasts.

@@panameadeplm What I meant it the case of " $100 for just the case and board is not exactly low budget." In US, $100 may not be low budget, but in China, these kind of budget keyboard just RMB 299 or US$40 and that why we call it involutionry keyboard.....

@@panameadeplm What you don't know that in China, there are so many company using the "Most Viarable Product" for quicker response and shorter day of inventory. Once the keyboards entered mass production, they will try to produce the least amount of product for later iteration. That's why these keyboards usually sold out and have so many SKUs.
