Fitz was injured in the temporal lobe and showcased auditory and visual hallucinations along with expressive dysphasia since that area controls these functions. Talbot was injured in the frontal area where behavioral changes, motor issues.
Both men were captured and stayed isolated in a facility under Hale. Fitz had a second brain injury in his frontal area in 5.12, staying in the framework didn't help him either and along the stress of impending doom exacerbated his brain injury and he was unable to control himself in 5.14, he showcases extreme guilt and acceptance of who he was in the framework is who he is deep down.
He doesn't seem able to understand that the framework wasn't real and accepts he was Hydra when in fact he was brainwashed and violated into being into one. He believes the doctor is something he always had it in him when it was programmed from AIDA.
Marauder Fitz died believing he was a bad guy like Talbot. Talbot died believing he was the savior, needing to fix the world on his own - killing people to do so when Fitz died saving Mack and Polly who were dead in the alternate future.
