I needed this badly. Having a hard time as new Tekken/Fighting game player and it can be difficult to understand what moves I should be focusing on in neutral and even moreso how to counter the aggression at lower ranks. I've never even used df4 but I will now. Thank you for showing a strong high, mid and low on that front.

my dude if youre in lower ranks the moves you should be focused on with leo are... 1 1,2 df1 df2 qcf1 if youre utilizing those moves you are gonna fly past the beginners. i feel guides like this will overcomplicate your learning process. spacing traps and setups are not something beginner players really need to worry about. if you just poke the hell out of the players in low ranks with the moves i said you will win very easily. people below red ranks and sometimes in red ranks can be beaten by rhythmically pressing the 1 button.

I've already seen all of the usual beginner guides and Leo beginner stuff so after a while it's all just telling me to jab if I'm really unsure and so I don't get anything out of Leo/General beginner content anymore. Controlling the space and moves that help create whiffs is in line with where I feel I'm at for being able to learn something new. It's also not something I've seen covered or explained as well as this does it. Notably df4 is something I've never even seen mentioned and it's basically just a longer range version of df1 which is exactly what I've been wanting. I just hit Garyu last night which was awesome! Thank you for the advice.

@@WingedZero8the key differences between df1 and df4 is partially the range but more importantly the frames! df1 is only -1 on block and that allows you to maintain your pressure! df4 has that pushback effect and is more minus on block. so df1 is more aggressive tool and df4 is more a get off me move. theyre both considered to be mid poking tools, but df1 has the added value of it's counter hit natural follow up.

@@sighyawn6378 Oh for sure, sorry for making it sound like I'm trying to use them in the same situation. I guess it would be the inverse where I love df1 for checking an opponent who I'm trying to open up while df4 feels nice for catching people who are trying move in and open me up instead. df1,2 lands often in lower ranked games lol

@@WingedZero8 im honestly still bullying people half way through blue ranks by landing ch df1, 2. basically if youve concluded your opponent is a masher i love df1, 2. i love leo's whole kit in this game dude this character is great. i started playing leo in tekken 6 and this is the best leo version ever imo. i really love new f3+4 for space control when people are running up on you. also you can do f2,4 and use the +7 frames to frame trap with f3+4. df3 is your mid frame trap. try it. f2, 4 is crazy.

Thanks for showing the real usage in df,4. I always felt like it was options there. And I didn't really know my options with and therefore, in turn, stopped using it except to try to close out rounds on an unsuspecting opponent because I haven't used it 😂.

One trap I like to do is b2,1. Surprisingly there are still a lot of people who try to jab check after, just one backdash and woop, free df2
