    As Sorin called out statistics (temperature, component disconnections, voltage, etc) ramping up to a "procedure" in other videos, it's crossed my mind that if this guy wasn't surgeon in an earlier life he had to have been a rocket scientist. "Repair, not replace" made me think "Welcome to my World" but that NEVER included electronics until happening on this amazing channel. I've learned so much and have been inspired to learn more besides. Thank you!

    I have more trust in Sorin`s proper calibrater wires than what the manufacturers design and put to fail into place. As a matter of fact I will try to repair things and not just replace parts.

    Galvanic corrosion. If there's power in the circuit, a cell is created and copper disappears into a copper salt very fast. If you spill, disconnect that battery ASAP.

    it's really the way you talk and explaining what is happening to what you're doing since day 1 that i watched your videos, and it makes me LIKE and SUBSCRIBED! 😊👍👍👍 very very informative tutorial videos, you're one of a kind. we all know that there are many good electronics/laptop tech here in YT, but they are so boring to watch, yours is not. 😊 so see you on a next one! 😊😁

    Is the first time I comment on your channel. I want to share my experience with laptops. I bought an ACER basic laptop back in 2012. This laptop still works after all those years. I have had MSI Titans laptops, and those had amazing cooling systems! Then I had an MSI Creator laptop, which was very poorly made! The body was so tin and flexible, terrible!. Then I bought a Lenovo Legion laptop. Very good quality and easy for upgrades!. Then I bought a Lenovo X1 Carbon gen 6 and gen 8. These laptops are super durable ! I never had any problem with lenovo, to be honest!. I trust lenovo! Truth has to be said: Any electronics won't last forever.

    Lenovo has really weird engineering laptops not in all models but a lot of them. Thinkpads are really good for example compared to yoga with failing hinges or cheap power buttons.

    My old 486 Win2k that ran multiboot with a 30MB HD hd pulled from a 286AT (also a multiboot Win95 & DOS) fired up about a month ago after a capacitor found rattling around on the MB was soldered back on (thanks to inspiration from Sorin). More than physical damage as far as computers not lasting, updates are the major culprit. My XP Dell & sister XP Gateway died and could not be revived by resetting the bios after the last update less than a week apart. Later a fairly new expensive Win7 was sabotaged during Windows 10 preparation and it was sold without OS disks. When it was switched to Linux, wiping remains of HP and windows to my surprise, annoying yellow flicker lines across the 17" display went away. My new Dell has no way to change scroll direction of the touchpad. Dell claims Windows is taking care of the driver while Windows refers to Dell. Cozy relationship. Time to buy new, eh? The question becomes for a reliable computer, " Did Levono shell out the big bucks and proprietary information to Microsoft to spare them from intentional driver update sabotage? Or, did the other manufacturers shell out money to Microsoft to drive up sales?"

    Pro tip: If you flatten the wire with a hammer first (hit on a metal block or anvil etc not wooden desk) then the wire will be very thin and the part will fit better. Essentially you can make a calibrated copper trace with wire.

    It's not just about satisfaction, if the resistor there was a 10K +/- 1% and you happen to replace it with a 10K +/- 10%, it will seem to work at the beginning, but may introduce unexpected behavior later on!

  • @paolomonai9511

    @paolomonai9511

    It may fail or It may not...anyway, It Is a 10K resistor. The current thru It Is very small. Basically, low value resistors are prone to fail, because they are used tò monitor current which can be high enough tò generate heat. Medium value resistors, say in the range of TENS of KOhm seldom fail. On the contrary, resistors in the MOhm range tend tò fail since they are used in high voltage circuits. Regards from Italy.
