Just repaired the detatched hinge if anyone is interested. I used 3M Scotch Weld DP8805. It seems to be holding out. The Hinge mounts are factory glued to the metal lid.

Hello. Do you have an Video where you change the Backcover of Display ? Because its broken on my C740-14IML near on the joint and i want to change it but never do that. So a bit help was nice. Only remove the screws let and right the joint ?

Just have to remove the screws holding the hinges to the back cover, but taking out the webcam cable that's taped down will be difficult without damaging it.

@@ItsBinhRepaired Well, I guess that makes me feel a little dense!🤣 I'm pretty unfamiliar with computer terminology. YaBroDanii asked, "By doing the screen replacement, would the touch screen start working again?" I'm thinking, aren't they the same thing? You answered, "If you're replacing the digitizer layer." Wait a minute, are there two parts to this screen? How can you replace the screen on this and leave out the digitizer layer??? Video's like this are pretty much the extent of my learning about computers. I didn't mean to ask a dumb question- you kinda set me up for it. Yes, I watched the whole video. Now I'm sitting here laughing about the whole thing, and yes, after watching your video, I'm thinking I can probably change my own screen. Thank you for the video.

@@jeffburmester1909 hahaha no problem. Yeah, it's all one piece. :P So replacing the screen should fix it, unless something else was also damaged.

are the digitizer and screen cemented together? is that the reason I cant find the digitizer as a separate replacement part online?
