It just depends on your lifestyle. Most student probably going to hold something in their other hand so opening a laptop with one hand is really useful. A good laptop can make a hinges that last for ages even if you can open it one hand or two hand.

Mathew, should I get the lenovo legion pro 7i or the 7i? Both are 9th gens. I like the pro but it costs extra and and it’s really bulky. Is the glacier white with the rtx 4070 a good pick for portability AND running top games? I wanna play AAA games with good frame rates but i’d prefer the glacier white colourway and a thinner laptop.

have the previous series, yoga 6 with also ryzen 7 (previous gen, 7000 series) for almost 2 years, the things that i like about this upgrade: 16“ with full size keyboard, more usb-a ports (mine only one on the right side), swappable hardware (very much respected), the front camera quality is actually good! things that considered to be improved next: pen still shall be charged with A4 battery which is hard to find, not practical. there’s a behavior of amd chips that i discovered lately on my laptop, they used to got „hanged“ if it’s on mode optimized performance on the heavy work load, usually can be covered by hard restart, but they don’t slowing down, they literally got hanged and you can’t do anything about it except hard restart.

Been waiting for a review of this laptop, do you recon the 14" version will perform similarly? I've been eyeing the 14" OLED model for a while now. Even though it's not a gaming laptop I'd have loved to see more gaming benchmarks of games that people are playing on mobile devices, maybe take a look at the "Most played on steam deck" page. Everywhere I look it's the normal IPS be it the 14 or 16", where does one even find that OLED model? The IPS has 45% NTSC which I feel isn't the best for drawing and such

I own the 14' OLED model and the display is absolutely gorgeous, 100% DCI-P3 coverage and the laptop itself weighs less than the IPS version. The iGPU is comparable to a Max-Q 1050Ti perf-wise, so operate on that assumption and you'll be fine.

Could you make a video on the phone from the short the infinix note 40 pro plus. I have a samsung s20 ultra but idk what phone to get I'm just amazed by these tecno phones xiaomi,honor,huawei crazy prices too

Careful, there are many different configurations of the Yoga 7, check that it has the CPU, RAM and screen you want.

I own two of these laptops, I recommend.

There needs to be an ARM Snapdragon version of this laptop. The Slim 7x doesn't support MPP pens.

Because it's a fresh entry in the market. Intel and AMD have a long history in PCs, unlike Qualcomm Snapdragon. Over time they will get more accessible

@@zUltraXO the problem is they never released any cheap CPU for the gen one. Maybe with gen 2 or 3? So can't blame the laptop OEMs on this. I hope AMD comes up with something cheaper yet better battery backup and better performance like Ryzen AI 300 but for budget/mid range laptops.

I got one but with no pen, and I can open it with one hand, and the hinfes aren't loose

same! after knowing the dirty works of intel, i’m pretty much an amd user since then, some people suggested that their chips are getting better now, but the facts they monetize with larger size area of the chips i’m pretty much not interested. 😂

AMD is just a little behind the X Elite in performance and battery life despite the hype, and pricing is similar. Factor in that next month, we will see a new Strix, and consumers should be wary of the billion-dollar marketing push by Qualcomm and MS. The 14-inch is £900 in the UK for 1TB/16GB with the same display (no other display option or 16-inch). If you mainly use an external display at home or work, then this seems to be of excellent value.

I don't see the point of the tablet part in a 4.4 pound 2-in-1. My previous laptop was a 2-in-1, 3.2 pounds. After holding it in tablet mode for 20 minutes, it feels like my wrists were going to break off.

I love Lenovo. But if it doesn't even cover SRGB. It belongs in the trash. It's 2024 goddamn it. Every laptop even if it's a very budget one should atleast 100% SRGB. That should be the norm.

@@MatthewMoniz Yes, the Yoga ThinkPads are much more attractive, better build quality, easier repair, and it'll just last longer with a better community as well. I think that's worth the extra dollars, but if it isn't then buying secondhand from companies are usually the norm for ThinkPad users anyways.

Adobe premier pro should not be a selling point. If you need to cancel to get it then they will charge you more than that to use it. If you need to sign up to use it them it will cost you more than the 2 free months to cancel.

Terrible coverage for artist and the pen. But I get it, Matthew is not an artist for artist, other reviewers may be more adept for the task
