ideapad 130-14IKB is intel processor and 14.0 inch display ideapad 130-15IKB is intel processor and 15.6 inch display ideapad 130-15AST is AMD processor and 15.6 inch display

DARN....I just bought an 8GB card to put in the extra slot. The person at Lenovo told me the maximum supported was 12GB. So I got the 8GB to add to the 4GB on the motherboard.

I have the exact same model and it doesn't come with an optical drive installed. So, I want to install an SSD in that space using a caddy. I am not sure if the port for optical drive is SATA III. Can you confirm about the port type of the optical drive?

tested the i7 model not good peformence with the nvidia mx110 and the chassis is not good like ive got breaks in the lid one month after using it without any drops and the fans are so loud .

Thnks for watching and pls subscribe. Only two type of caddy is available 9.5mm and 12.7mm thickness drives. 12.7mm is old model laptops. So your laptop ( Lenovo ideapad 130) caddy is 9.5mm size...

yes you can install a caddy with a second hard drive. disconnecting the battery isn't very hard, so you might as well do it.

Can anyone tell me if it's at all difficult to open the case? I am totally capable of doing the steps that are showed in the video. But it wouldn't surprise me if a case gets cracked or broken when trying to split it open. I ordered a Utility knife blade to slip in and pull it apart like it shows in the video. But I just want to know if there is any additional trick or something. Or do I just slip it in the seam and pry gently?

Just as an FYI, I did this yesterday. Everything worked as was shown in the video, however, I will say that it was rather difficult to open the case up. I used a utility blade as shown in the video. It took a lot of patience, but it did work.

It's a dummy disk drive. Meaning it's just there for show (a prop) there's no actual drive therefore it doesn't have a button to open it. And I'm not guessing I read the specs.

There's some confusion regarding the IdeaPad 130 memory...this is because there are a couple of different models. I believe this video is for the 130-15IKB, which has 4GB soldered in and one DIMM slot. The 130-15AST only has the DIMM. Here are the Lenovo IdeaPad Memory Specs gleaned from the HW Maintenance Manual: • Model 130-14IKB & 130-15IKB -- DDR4-2133 MHz, SODIMM × 1, on board × 1 max: 4 GB on board + 4, 8 or 16 GB DIMM = 8, 12 or 20GB • Model 130-15AST -- DDR4-2133 MHz, SODIMM × 1 max: 4, 8 or 16 GB DIMM = 4, 8 or 16GB • DDR4-2400 MHz DIMMs can be used and will clock down to 2133

As long as it is DDR4, uses sodimm, and is on 1 stick it should work. I am not 100% sure if there is a limit to the RAM you can put in.

sagar b. , no M.2 slot inside. I can confirm that, as I just went to the dealer service for an upgrade without losing my warranty. I had to swap the original low-end hdd with an hi-speed 1TB ssd. The thing got wings!

This model have dummy dvd drive(plastic dvd drive) ,that mean in future if u want add dvd drive or extra hard disk upgradation purpose .

No.. Your 4GB ram is inbulid, so u cant remove ram...u can add extra 4gb or 8gb or 16gb only (subscribe pls....)
