Thank you so much! I needed to add more RAM to a G500, and I couldn't find the screws. I thought they'll be hidden under the rubber feet - but that was not true.

I see you removed the screws from the hinges, but then how do you put the monitor back on? I've been trying for hours to reassemble my laptop and having no luck!

Thanks dude. I had to fix the hinges on my old laptop. Turned out that wasn't quite possible because plastic was literally in pieces and the whole thing was far too gone but at least i didn't make it any worse

@@sandeshms2148 well i loosened the hinges and oiled them up, then i glued the whole thing together with glass fibers and left it to dry. You gotta use pliers for the screws, lenovo is built in a way that makes hinges tighten up a tiny bit, every time that you open or close it. Be aware however that lubing the hinges too much may make them too weak to hold the screen, especially with the added weight of glue

Yeah why not.. but you'll need a hdmi cable and a monitor to make use of though.

My laptop fell a few months back now every time I close it the part near the fan cage lifts up and the corner were the rubber is it lifts up what can I do even the screen lifts up in the corner when I close it then I have to press down in the corner my fear is that it will break sometimes when I am busy on it would freeze

I had the same problem. At least one of the sockets of the 3 screws of the hinge will be broken. One of them is the silver one in the upper left corner, which you can see after removing the maintenance cover. The other two only after removing the top frame. I replaced the whole middle part, its very cheap at aliexpress, I only paid 8€.

Again there is a lenovo which the case is broken. I have g500 too, ı need to change lower case. ı don't dare..

You could try to get into the BIOS (on lenovo it's pressin f2 or the backup button during boot). If you can get into the bios you could try to boot a live usb to check what went wrong. (I can read French, but my writing is horrible, hence the English reply :p )

Hmm, OK, but I don't like the use of metal (screwdrivers) on plastic (keyboard). This inevitably leads to damage, even if only superficial or cosmetic - but the tiniest scratches and nicks are highly visible. Especially on something like a keyboard which you are looking at *all the time* :( Rather use spudgers and / or credit cards for this job.

what lenovo g500 is bluetooth capable? my laptop{ lenovo g500} is uncapable for use bluetooth so what i do? please reply me ....talk about bluetooth hardware..

Generally upgrading your hard drive to an SSD is the easiest and best thing the average person can do to give life to an old laptop. Depending on your use, adding more RAM could help, but if you're not using more than what you already have it's not going to do much. If you haven't cleaned your computer before, getting some canned air and trying to remove the dust inside can be helpful as well.
