Lenny McLean, Door Work, John Fury, Bodybuilding: Micky Theo
Ойын-сауық
He started weight training at 15 years old, and by 21 was competing, and then doing the doors, becoming close friends with, and sparring with Lenny McLean, and later went on to own his own bars and clubs.
5 years ago he challenged John Fury to a charity fight after John's proclamation that he was tougher than any 54 year old man on the planet.
Now 60, with a lifetime of training under his belt, and in better shape than most 20 year olds, Micky Theo reissues that challenge one last time (in words that aren't minced!) in the hope that John Fury will finally answer the call.

If you watched to the end you’ll hear Mick talks about his gym trying to rehabilitate the youth and pull them away from violent crime and for me that’s worthy or respect, as most sit back, do nothing and wait until they read about it in the news! - men will always fight, but please put the knives down!!!!! If you enjoy these conversations, please remember to like & subscribe to the channel.. Thanks for watching 🙏🏼

We had a rule on our doors ..you want to fight like a man.u will get treated like one..yeh I've been bottled by one.kicked up the balls by one and they got the same as a man would right hook .left cross...as lenny would say good night .God bless...that's why I gave the doors up too much pussy footing about now...and jacket fillers afraid of a good tear up..I've helped the old bill out a few times only to get nickedby the same ones....the good old days are gone..

Really good interview, it was interesting to hear what Mick Theo had to say.
Enjoyed listening to this👌🏼 top man Micky 👍🏼
What a geeza As real as they come no bullshit straight to the point.
Being an ex doorman myself from the late 80s & 90s I could relate to some of these stories,it was definitely different back then, more characters about then, great interview 👍
Micky seems like a decent fella, remember the call outs and would love to see him in the ring with John fury. Love how he calls Johns bluff and doesn’t back down to him. John can obviously have a fight and would love to see if he can back up all he’s talk. Hats off boys.🥊💪
What a nice Gentleman, really enjoyed watching and listening to Mick Theo, always admired him, since back in the day, true legend

Legend, really? That word is thrown about far too easily these days and that is said with nothing against Mick Theo personally. I was into weight training as a kid and used to buy Bodybuilding Monthly magazine because it featured more UK bodybuilders than American ones, which being from south east London myself, I could identify with more. I even followed an abbreviated routine once that Mick Theo did when the magazine listed his training workout when doing an article on him. The only other thing I remember about him from the magazine and that era was when he walked off stage, throwing his trophy away after he was presented with it because he did not win. I did know about him working the doors and the Lenny McClean connection and had heard the broken ribs story too. Then when his name first reappeared a few years back regarding fighting John Fury, everyone seemed to be calling him Micky rather than Mick and I was not sure at first if it was the same bloke, because I had not heard anything about him for decades and it sounded strange to me like suddenly saying Micky Fleetwood, Micky Hucknall or Micky Jagger.
Another nice podcast Liam interesting guest as always all best you n Micky 👍👏👏👏👏❤️
Great podcast, Mickey seems like he is a great person and I wish him all the happiness in the world. lots of luv from Florida. 🙏🇺🇸🗽🇬🇧🙏
Great podcast Theo is real geezer hopefully he gets one of these fights 👍
Micky was nice enough to help clean my Rover 75 the other day. Done a fine job, likes to use the proper car wash stuff. Cheers Mick...

Liam, after watching your initial podcasts, I must admit that I initially thought, "I've seen this countless times before; it will last for a while and then fade away." This perception arose whether it was in notorious countries or through social media, and it seemed to be more about self-promotion rather than active listening and taking responsibility at times. However, with these latest podcasts, I found it to be more productive, engaging the audience effectively, posing insightful questions rather than average ones, and exuding confidence in asking the right questions. Keep up the excellent work.
Excellent interview 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍
Well done mickey. John is like a kid in school kicking off knowing the teacher will be here within a minute to break up. Absolute melt

What a BRILLIANT interview ! Great character and a huge inspiration. If you listen to society, they’ll have you believing that 60 is old. Having watch this fella and how he’s (obviously) taken care of himself, the only limitation you have is in your mind.
5 ft 8 this is why he looked massive because he was the height of a garden gnome, no way at his age he is not on trt at least, the fact he said a bit creatine he knew how preposterous he sounded, i wouldn't even say he was on a trt dose, probably 500mg a week

I met Mick Theo in 1990 in Cricklewood, when he was finishing work and getting out of a blue Mercedes, he was a nice fella and very affable.
Great podcast from a bit of a legend in certain circles in london and I can vouch for his lifts he was so strong and a frightening guy he was extremely respected didn’t really used to speak to him back in the day he used to growl a lot in the gym 😂but such a nice approachable guy now

Mickey Theo is a proper person. Never been a bully boy like mclean or john fury. Tough man with morals and always willing to help young people who sometimes lose their way. No wonder lard arse john fury didnt fancy a bout with him. Fury is full of shit and bottled it. Ive known Mick for over 35 years in my amateur days. Always said it as it was. Owns his mistakes and doesnt hide from his past. Cracking bloke
You do a great job on your podcast Liam .mick Theo you are a good man an a very funny bloke.all the best 🥃🥃

Cracking Interview Liam 🎤 Great to hear from Micky about Lenny 🥊
I enjoy a bit of Mr Theo. I grew up in wood green in the 70s.
I seen some old videos of mick competing in the early 90s man he was a huge dude, could have definitely competed in the ifbb .

😆👏goodn. Micky to John Fury - "Don't push it or I'll give you a war you won't believe. Let it go,.....let it go!" Shane Fury to Micky - "I don't think you understand Micky. You're dealing with an expert in bareknuckle warfare. A man who's the best with catapults, horseshoes...and his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, and live off the land. Eat things that would make a starving lurcher puke. At Appleby and the Epsom Derby, his job was to dispose of his enemies that were involved in a family feud. Stretch them right up the floor sparked clean out! Win by sticking his thumbs in their yoks. And my father Big John was the best" 🥊😎💪

Great chat about the side affects of steroids. Hormones have a crazy effect on our whole body. Whilst I never suffered impotence or rage, I did steroids with no knowledge of PCT, I have a great life but the hormone down swing left me in a really dangerous near suicidal state of depression. I would earn any young or current user about that. I had no reason to feel that way purely the hormone test drop. I also suffered liver and bowel damage that put me in hospital for 12 weeks. If you're gonna do it and most bodybuilders do, then get good advice, it's out there.
The late 80s early to mid 90s the gear was mostly legit goldline/schering/bayer/organon. They were the names that were quality.
Fare play to him still on it im 56 now old school never leave you say no more 😅
Love Micky Theo serious will power he will destroy anyone his age who dare to step in the ring with him … godbless you son
Loved this series ant we had a recluse back in bolton in the 80s we called him kermit we lived on a hill and it had been snowing once he was holding the fences next he took his shoes off sat on them and used them as a sledge lol he lived in the house next door to where the 1970 film called spring and port wine was filmed
What a good interview what a lovelry humble fella but if you know you know this fella was naughty..... Good night God bless 😂
