Lena Horne - Just One of Those Things, from Panama Hattie (1942)
Фильм және анимация
Lena Horne in her first MGM film. She had previously appeared in two low budget (all black) films including a musical feature called The Duke is Tops (1938).
After she made her Hollywood nightclub debut at Felix Young's Little Troc on the Sunset Strip she was signed with MGM becoming the first black performer to sign a long-term contract with a major Hollywood studio.

One of the best 😍
Lena Horne gives this Cole Porter song the best style I've heard so far. She had the voice, the beauty, and OH, that smile! Great upload.

@John...Yes, the Cole Porter repertory brought out the best in Horne. This is not to say the others didn't. Horne sang with her entire body and was not so much a singer as she was a stylist. If you care to, please listen to another stylist of that time doing Porter's "I've got you under my skin," by Josephine Baker. Horne didn't get the opportunity to show off her hoofing ability, which was quite impressive. I caught a glimpse of this as dance great/choreographer Carol Haney put Horne through some fancy steps. Those were great days.
Lena Horne was perfection. She just lit up the screen
Love the way She does this song! Thanks to you Mr. Roger Edens!
Lovely!
God I love how she ends this song!
Stunning
I love the way she punctuates "If we thought a bit at the end of it."
She looks like Alicia Keys.
