Lemur Sounds PART 2!

Lemurs communicate using scent, sight, and sound! Each species has its own "vocabulary" of vocalizations, which may be used to alert fellow group members when predators are near, to warn competitors to stay away, or to communicate with group members who might be far away in the forest.
How many of these shrieks, grunts, barks, eeps, and other vocalizations have YOU heard? 😃

I absolutely adore lemurs since I was a kid! I went to the zoo and saw them for the first time.

They make so many sounds I didn’t even know
I love these guys! Went to Madagascar 8 years ago. It's an ecological nightmare. It is sad how they're burning the rain forest and the pollution is unbelievable. Malagasy politics is even sadder.
Thank you so much this Audio is awesome when the Aye Aye is doing the agitated drumming. Is it with its mouth or is it physically hitting something or do they beat their chests like gorillas. It sounds like most of the lemur calls are nasal or guttural. I guess those elongated snouts are more important than for smelling. This video really made me think.

Hi, Grubby aye aye! Great question! The drumming sound is made with the aye-aye's mouth and nasal passages, not by physically "drumming" against the chest or other object.

Then precisely how do the aye-ayes articulate their own tongues and soft palates to make that drumming sound? Is it like a mannish palatal lateral click [ǁ]?

The ones at the end are cursing the English for moving them from Fox so early to Monkey. If you can tell which sounds are female, you can actually hear how sad her voice is when you know what fox women sound like in voice generally... Man is absolutely disgusting for moving the cycle to man so fast...
