What's funny is that I found a copy of that book at a used book store the Thursday before Thompson this year. Obviously, I bought it and tried to get as many team signatures in it as possible.

Would you ever consider a “trial/training” standalone hour race, for beginners? Closer to a track day event without a fully gutted & caged car? Maybe the Friday before? Track day events are crowded with high end fast cars, and Lemons is a full prepped race cheap car. I cannot find anything in the middle. Thank you

Never say never! Lots of teams looking for paid drivers, if you're ever visiting the U.S. you could time it out without actually having to own/build a car of your own!

German here, biggest goal is to drive Lemons atleast once :D

Trash talk the X1/9 all you want. We ran the entire weekend, our worst hiccup was a lost accessory belt (that admittedly could have toasted the engine BUT IT DIDN'T), and we got great gas mileage.

"Raced" against a pair of Lancia Scorpions at Thompson. One of them hella blew up, the other ran the whole weekend like you guys did in your very similar X1/9. Wouldn't call it a formula for success, but very cool when it works out.

Strangely enough our X1/9 suffered a lost accessory belt at our first race.

so since kim can actually say "scrotum" correctly now, does that make my 2020 iScrotium 500 patch worth more?

I seen a video and it says "Scrotium 500" is the solution to all our energy problems. Scrotium can replace Uranium with no nuclear waist or no radiation.

I have had to do that before.. we owned a GMC flat deck and we had to push start it every once and a while. If you parked it at just the right angle the starter wouldn't engage, it bench tested fine and would rip your arms off if you tried to hold it still, there was nothing wrong with the starter. So six people would push it down the hill in front of the shop and it would not fork up until someone forgot and parked it in just the right spot.

Sounds like the starter was missing exactly 1 magnet in its casing!

I watched it race on Saturday and that thing hauled ass.

I remember Kim, she's a cutie pie. Was a great race. That place is about 10 miles away from nowhere. Once you get to nowhere, keep going until the world ends. That's where you'll find it. Was a fun track. 👍 Looks like we'll all be back next year. We have all year to think about working on the car in the last 3 days before race weekend.😆
