I'd say that because the characters are supposed to be pretty much outcasts, they do not know how to reach to others, so the lemonade is the ice breaker, the thing they have in common. Also maybe a symbol for outcasts, since only "losers" like them go to drink from that forgotten vending machine, which is why when people want to remove it, it's a symbol for how they were removed from social circles for not being popular enough. The fight for the lemonade is a pretext for their fight to be heard.

The book is actually MUCH more mature than the movie; they made it more kid-friendly since it's Disney Channel. The book is very intense and powerful, which is probably why the movie turned out so well.

anonymous artist that makes no since because when you think about it Stella is constantly being held up to the unrealistic standards that her family has. And Wen’s dad is dating a girl who might as well be the same age as him, and on top of that it’s incredibly uncomfortable when you first get a new stepparent cause it kinda feels like replacement. So yeah they do have problems, and quite honestly I would say that Stella and Charlie kind of have the same problem considering it’s families and high standards.

I went to a high school that gutted the arts programs all for sports; it does happen, but it's more common in tiny rural towns, not sure it's too common for the cities and bigger towns, but it definitely is for the rurals.

Not even other sports/athletes), but schools also ignore the importance of physical health. We need to be active and not sitting all day

I think this movie works because they do show kids with very relatable issues at home and a lot of their "troublesome behavior" at school was from issues at home. While its true that their issues aren't world ending, many people could relate. A kid whose into something their parents don't see as that productive (playing soccer vs playing the drum) and not supported well, a kid trying to adjust to a shift in the family dynamic with a new stepmom, a kid who stuck with parents with certain ideals and traditions that they may not want to follow(not wanting her to show her shoulders or play bass and stick with classical), and surprisingly a dad who is in prison and not sure how to deal with that information or fix that relationship. Kids go through these problems. It wasn't the usual Disney school with high school sucking, it was their feelings from their home life. High school is that time period where you start to become your own person but still too afraid to try to meet your parents head on. You are not equal to your parents yet and their words and actions carry a lot of weight, but parents words, actions, or ideas may not mesh with yours anymore. So you have to follow what they say but carry that dissonance too unsure of how to meet your parents on that level. I think that's why its a good movie.

When I was a kid, my older brother loved this movie and always wanted to watch it with us, but I was DEAD SET against watching it for some reason I can't even remember anymore--it's kinda silly to me now, but I just really didn't want to. And then I finally watched it with him and our other siblings... and I really, really liked it, so I'm glad you did too. (Thank you for not bashing it, lol)

I'm surprised he didn't talk about how the blond girl's character's dad is in jail. (Edit: Never thought I would say this in my life but thanks for 1.3k likes!)

Ye but to be fair Wen moves quite a bit around. And then muscle memory is hard. I agree when sitting stationary muscle memory is bombing. But if you trying to dange and entertain it gets so hard. Also while muscle memory helps with knowing where to push not seeing the boundaries of the keys is hell. You know where it is generally but if all the keyboard is 1 blurr it's gonna be hard to aim

Honestly, I relate to Olivia getting in trouble for reading a book. I actually got ISS for it. Cause one specific teacher got mad that I was reading while they were teaching (the other teachers had figured out by then I generally knew what they were teaching), and said if I was so smart I should be able to take a test right then. Made a 92, and she got so mad that I DID know, that she gave me 4 days of ISS for "disruptive behavior."

Same here, I've seen a lot, Lemonade Mouth is still my favourite in terms of story and characters. For soundtrack, High School Musical is my favourite
