Lemken speed disc cultivators ready for 2024 launch

Lemken will debut Rubin 10, its next generation of speed disc cultivators, for 2024.
Last fall, the company announced plans to introduce a new Rubin 10 series, replacing its Rubin 9 series. A key feature of the new machines is the ability to be hitched via a ball coupling or drawbar eye; hydraulic support is also available to make attachment and detachment easier.
"This time around, instead of having a carrier system, we have basically one machine that holds the whole Rubin system," says Lemken Canada's managing director Mathieu Vallieres. In this report from Agritechnica, featuring the Rubin 10, Vallieres notes that the machine has a 10-metre working width, and all new models, which range from seven to 10 metres, feature a symmetrical disc arrangement for fuel-efficient operation without side draft.
Two rows of serrated concave discs allow for thorough incorporation across the full surface width from a soil depth of just seven centimetres, the company says. The 14-centimetre line spacing ensures blockage-free work even with large volumes of organic matter.
The Rubin 10's working sections feature a pendulum type suspension to ensure optimal following of the field contour. On uneven terrain or when working on slopes, the optional iQ-Contour pendulum compensation guarantees optimum surface adaptation.
The cultivator's hydraulic depth adjustment makes it possible to respond to changing conditions and the working depth can be changed while driving. Vallieres notes that the machine is a good fit for fall tillage, especially in dry conditions. It does some of its best work at depths of four to seven inches and recommended travel speed ranges from 10 to 14 mph.
