Leica Traverse Application for CS20 : Data collection of Traverse in Field (Video 2 of 4)

00:00 Introduction to Traverse application on CS20 using a Robotic Leica Total station. (Can also be used On board a Leica TS13-16-MS60) or a manual Total station
01:15 setup Working Job and Properties, set Scale factor to work on State Plane Grid
02:20 Set control job, to use pair of RTK control points to establish starting baseline to traverse from
02:50 Configure prism for BS and FS in Traverse
03:15 Set up Traverse Application in Main screen to access easily
04:15 First set up Inst @ PT1 BS 6 FS PT 2 turn sets angles view results
07:40 Move up to 2nd Setup Inst @ Pt 2 BS Pt 1 FS Pt 3 turn sets of angles , view results then move up to next traverse point # 3
11:50 CLOSE POINT Routine show when set up at Pt 4 BS Pt 3 and Close to point 1 (RTK control point) view results and turning 2 sets of Angles
13:10 When setting BS in Traverse routine, how to check the differences in Field to points on ground to ensure within tolerance
16:00 CLOSE ANGLE Routine show how to setup of Pt 1 (RTK control) then BS Pt 4 and then Close angel to Pt 6 (RTK control point)
18:50 View angular misclosure in field and also view the closure in North ,Easting and vertical

Thank you Jeff! How does one generate the traverse report file? It sounds like Leica does not provide a "default template" for that report file... why do you suppose that is? Is it just to make us have to buy Infinity? Can I create a traverse report file using NotePad? If I know of other surveyors running a CS20 with Captivate... can their file be used in my collector? thank you again for this demonstration. My dealer was not able to show me the Traverse application in full.

If you download to Infinity- the reporting is great so that is an option. I would strongly recommend Infinity for any one running RTK or TPS especially when traversing, will need the TPS option. The older Format files allow you to export information, these can be downloaded from My world, if you email me i can send some over- also can ask Leica support 800-327-4773 to help or your local dealer should be able to help. Also on CS20 if you go to Job-Export Dat, then export a Rw5, will have all the raw info from traverse. So several options

Here is a link to Some useful Format files, if you put on SD card under CONVERT subdirectory then you can upload, important to attached Format file before starting Traverse to record. There is a "1200Appl" format file or "TPS Traverse" both should work fine, the "1200appl" format file is a great default one to use in all applications. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YVPYq_ohauSiy0Xy77ZzcwPppv5PripN?usp=drive_link

Can you re enter the original pre adjusted traverse file once its adjusted?

If you watch video 3 you can adjust the traverse in field, and store to a new job with new point ID- to preserve the original job and traverse data . This original job can then also be imported into Infinity office Software to be adjusted using Infinity SW

I am confused with the scale factor. When you pick the Current setup option, is it calculated from your traverse? at the end?

SF is calculated during the Setup--requires a State Plane or Coord system attached to Job under Job Properties, and based on the starting coordinate of the setup up point . SF is computed , then all the data in the job will be based on Grid system of the selected Coord system. If coordinate system set to "none" then working on Surface (ground)

@@JeffRyallG4GR So as I understand if we alredy applied a coordinate system along with scale factor to the job then we picked the Current setup we will produce new control within the job defiend coordinate system and will be having the same scale factor that the job we are working with has. Right?
