The pitch control mechanism has to be one of the most impressive mechanical contraptions Lego has ever released. Just loving it.
I definitely did'nt expect the individual blade pitch control being realized in a Technic set. The complexity of the assembly seems to push the envelope of what can be achieved using LEGO parts in terms of rigidity and precision. Thanks for the detailed review.

Lego already have the cyclic control, it was used in one very old helicopter set
Wow I actually like the realistic controlling from inside the cockpit. Since long time, this is something new in the Lego world and really refreshing to see that Lego is not always making the same old gear boxes stuff like in every single car.

It's like how they used to be in the 80s beautiful realistic models that made you excited to build them. We lived in Poland and my father would bring them from Germany for us. They lit up and made sounds too.
As a professional helicopter pilot, I have so say I’m thrilled about this one! Agreed regarding the pedals and yaw, and the details behind the control inputs is just awesome😃 Really cool they managed to put this together!

isn't the controlls in a real helicopter 90 degrees of due to the gyroscopic effect? I you want to roll left in a helicopter the swashplate needs to lean forward and the gyroscopic effect of the spinning rotor will cause the helicopter to roll to the left? (if the rotor is spinning counter clocwise)?
this is the most interesting pure technic build in a while. Love the complex linkages for the pitch control. All these different functions being simultaeously powered from one motor makes me want a technic robot arm like the Tomy Armatron back from the 80s (also entirely mechanical powered by a single motor).
a LEGO Technic set with actual technic functions? I'm absolutely impressed

This feels like the best of two technic worlds: jam packed with functions, but it isn’t too harsh on the eye either
Now the only question left is: why does it need to be an Airbus? This model is all about the functionality, looks are very obviously secondary. I doubt Airbus holds a patent on the swashplate mechanism, so why couldn't this just have been a non-licensed, generic helicopter?
Thanks for the epic review! I'm really liking this set, I think it really captures the essence of Technic. Might get one myself!
Thought the exact same with the osprey, but this model looks fantastic watching it being built with all the linkages to affect the rotor was beautiful, my father was an avionics engineer so im certain he'll love this mechanism
What an awesome set! I’m not really a fan of Technic, but this is the type of sets that makes the Technic system shine.
I still have my original 8856 rescue helicopter from my childhood, and this is the first set I've seen that feels like a true successor to that one.
Now this is what Technic is all about! Love all the new activities included in this kits playability! Thanks for the nice review!
Just bought this set (my first large technic set) and I couldn't be more satisfied with it. The build, mechanism, and aesthetics are all great.
Basically the technic version of the "A MAN HAS FALLEN INTO A RIVER IN LEGO CITY" helicopter
The blade control is a crazy mechanism, very impressive. It might be interesting running it with a smoke machine to see how much effect if any the angles have.
Thx for the great review. I think the 'problem' might be, that this model resides in a very technical corner of the technical-design-playability-diagram. So while it - in my opinion - is a realy great set and nails the design-goal, less playability (as a wheel loader for example) and less good looking + not-being-a-car reduces the circle of potential buyers to the, I guess relatively small, group of pure technical enthusiasts or 'idealists'. But even if it's not the selling blockbuster it's definitely neccessary to complete the whole roundup. And I'm a total fan of the neon yellow. We need more panels in this color! :D
Great review as always, thank you for doing that. In my opinion this is the new benchmark for LEGO Technic aircraft because it includes stunning and authentic functions like the collective and cyclic pitch control.
This is a super cool/highly functional Technic set. Always enjoy the detailed build/explanations into the functions/parts setup as well as the occasional flourishes of humor. I'm no Technic specialist and as intimidating as this looks to build have always wanted a mid scale Technic helicopter since missing out on the 2012 release. Also huge shame about the Osprey as I would've bought that one in a heartbeat.
Wow, now there’s a licensed set with worthwhile functionality! Price doesn’t seem unreasonable either.
This has brought me flashbacks of my first big Technic Set from 1991, Whirlwind Rescue 8856. Thanks for the awesome review as always, take care!
Another great review RB, many thanks! I initially didnt think much on this set, however, seeing all its functionality is very impressive. Having a motorized helicopter without needing a dreaded app is a huge bonus and I'm definitely considering picking this up, build looks like great fun and I've no doubt my 5yr old will love the play value haha.
The osprey at the beginning 🤣🤣🤣
This is some impressive functions! definitely one of the best I’ve seen so far
Thank you for your fantastic reviews Balasz. Whenever a new set comes out, I'm waiting for your reviews, as they have a perfect mix of technical details and relevant informations about the set. It still feels honest and independent, although the sets are provided by Lego. I hope you can keep this attidude :)

Thank you for the kind feedback, I'm doing my best! There's a lot of unnecessary negativity towards reviews with sets provided by LEGO, for me as you could see the source doesn't matter at all. I get sets and buy sets, but if there wasn't a disclaimer at the beginning of the video, I don't think you could notice which one is which based on my opinion shared.
Great review! Technic for me is about replicating exciting functions instead of purely making things for show, and this is one of the best technic sets in recent times in that regard. And as someone in the "all black squad" I actually don't mind the colouring of the new gear. I like the darker matt green, more so than the brighter blue ones in the Ferrari.
This is how all should Lego technic should be! Amazing set! I will definitely get one of this
Now I want Lego to make an Airbus a380 🤣I hope they do

Thank you for this review! I worked on and at one point led the design team completing the engine control software for this helicopter leading up to type certification. Some of the work I'm most proud of in my career. It's great to see a Lego model of the EC175/H175 coming out all these years later.

Well, this is a must have. Thank you very much for the review - great as always :)
Inserted new batteries today to see the motor functions. Pretty cool. It's just a real pain to unscrew the battery box. You can't easily put the helicopter upside down. So you have a big heavy chopper in one hand, another hand a small screwdriver and good luck! I loved the build.
Wow, this actually is a good competitor to the mindblowing Land Rover helicopter MOC.
Hi Balasz, I usually watch your Lego car reviews, but have only just seen this one, the Airbus H175 helicopter. I love aircraft, and while the newly released Concorde is on my “must get” list, I have actually decided to buy the Technic helicopter instead. What really did it for me were all the moving features that you show in your video, associated with rotor pitch, cyclic controls and swash plate. The designer was very clever to have imagined and incorporated these, and it left me wanting to build it. I agree about the transparent stickers/decals looking better, and a pity about the sagging tail, but I am still excited about building this set. I’d love to buy and build Concorde, but need to start saving, as it costs more that the current UK price for the Technic Airbus H175, and while it looked like an interesting build, I don’t think it will be as challenging. I am very grateful for the video, otherwise I could have overlooked this model. Please keep up the good work on your You Tube channel.
The top covers sliding forward and back to reveal the inner gears is an unexpected feature. I'm buying it!
An intresting miss by lego in this set is that all helocopters has there controlls 90 degrees off. When you move the stick left to right the swashplate (the piece at 7.09 ) should move back and forth. This is due to the rotor causing a gyrosocpic effect that rotate the force 90 degrees from the input.
Great reaction! I really like your review detailing about this one
trhe fact that there is an actual swash-plate and realistic stearing is just insane to me with the tiny controls in the cabin 🤯🤯
Nice review, it was hard yesterday to wait and not watch any other video abut this helicopter, but I wanted to watch yours first and it was worth waiting.
Great looking set. Love the mechanisms. This may sound silly but I like this more then the cars
The controls remind me of the 8412 helicopter I had as a kid. It was a very cool model with lots of educational value like this one!
Amazing lego, complexity of the rotor mechanism is well reproduced, this is a great buy
Just ordered this one, after watching your extensive review of this set. Thanks!
just finished my build of this kit last night. Was super _stoked the gearbox worked first try with power. Fun build, now to find an Osprey!
Most people don't know this, but to get a real helicopter to pitch forward, you actually adjust the angle of attack of the blades when they are on the sides, NOT the front and back. This is because of the 90 degree phase lag of the huge gyroscope which is the blades.
Very well made review. Good job!
I'm pretty sure they didn't really care about the stickers matching the background perfectly, it's not something very visible nonetheless. I believe they made the tail stickers transparent because they couldn't recreate the neon yellow background but it would have been expensive to make every single sticker transparent. I believe the 18+ car sets are more designed to be slightly challenging to build and great to display, while the Airbus doesn't look as good visualy. It seems to be targetted more at the educational experience of how helicopters work.
I have just purchased this after watching your very informative and detailed video. Thank you for such a quality review.
I'm saving up for it because it's the coolest Lego set of 2022
I just got this yesterday while travelling I can’t wait to go home and build it
One of the better technic helicopters that's been made. With that said I think with all that you get it's still a bit more expensive then I'd like to spend. But very well put together.
I will definitely pick up this set!
i love your detailed video, another set that i will need to buy :)
I liked the creativity with the intro. Made me laugh a little. Good Job!
Great review! I will buy this one.
Great set, nice n best review
Your reviews are the best
Amazing set that I will have to enjoy through video - just not in the budget range that I can justify. Regardless, it's still a pretty cool set! Thanks for the great video, Balazs.
This set looks amazing. Hopefully I can get to that level of building and reviewing sets on my channel. Keep up the great builds.
WOOO BABY ANOTHER VIDEO
This gives me memories all the way back to the heavy lift helicopter
Quite epic technic master piece
this set is sooo cool, i lov ot
The coolest thing was holding my hand under the helicopter while it was running and messing with the collective and feeling how the air pushing down would change
Thank you for the review. I'd like to build this one day. I wish they had reused the Flex System like in LEGO Technic 8856. It would have simplified a lot.
Such a cool mechanism
Great set !
😂😂 i love the start With the Osprey 😂
This review certainly reversed my first impressions of this set. When I first saw it, I thought it would just be another boring licensed set, like an overly-simplified Osprey or Air Race Jet. However, from this review, it seems to be a really well-designed set teeming with interesting functions and building techniques! I also really like the combination of the motor-driven blades and the two-speed gearbox, it makes the speed difference of the gearbox much easier to display than on regular vehicles. (Also, on the topic of the barely-visible cyclic controls; I feel like this set does the same thing as the Ducati, where it makes up for its barely-visible complex functions by exposing more of the underlying mechanism in motion. I like this approach far better than what the 1:8 scale supercars do, where the sets tend to hide the engines & force you to flip the vehicle to see the gearbox.)
i like how the new battery box has 1,5 starts 2:37😀
Helps me to find my final decision, thank you!
Full cyclic and collective control on a Lego helicopter? Impressive
This will be a first day purchase for me. My only complaint is it would have looked better in yellow. Great video as always.
Holy crap, Lego is going to break me. I'm going to have to get a loan on my house to buy all of these new sets coming out. As always your build and opinion is greatly appreciated. Thank you. 😊
Holy smokes, cant believe they managed to fit in a real swashplate mechanism in there, that is super impressive
I love that.Looks really challenging to build.
I think it looks fantastic. I want it.
I really like this set. I want it
4th , the helicopter looks sick
This is the remastered version of A MAN HAS FALLEN INTO THE RIVER IN LEGO CITY, BUILD THE RESCUE HELICOPTER, “H E Y”
Great review, thank you :) Anybody else having problems with the rear wheels not hiding (going up) if fully opened? This seems to happen due to the long light grey connecting beam going a bit upwards instead of just moving horizontally (to the back of the model). There seems to be a perfect place for a piece that would lock that beam in horizontal movement (e.g. adding a 90* cross block next to the linear actuator).
I like this set but much more prefer the osprey and thanks for the review!
This Set looks really nice and interesting, very cool functions. But I don’t unterstand the need for a license… it looks cool and I think no one really cares about the bad looking stickers in this one. Would have been much cheaper without the license.

You answered your own question. Licenses enable Lego to increase their price. They take every opportunity to maximize their profits
Great review as always. Thank you. Like the Land Rover, a challenging build for me, but everything seemed to turn out well. Had so much fun building it and happy with the set overall. Good times. The rear landing gear was solid for a while, but now it collapses under the weight of the helicopter. Not sure what's going on. Anyone else have a problem with the rear landing gear?
Nice review Balàzs :), this set reminds me the 1991 Whirlwind Rescue LEGO Technic (8856-1) or the Helicopter released in 2012. They have similar functions.
It looks like my blades are spinning a lot slower than in the video. Does anyone know a fix for that?
I got this Lego set for my ninth birthday in 2022🎉 it was such a cool build😮😊
Great review as always. I think I'll finally get my second Technic helicopter after 852 from 1978 which I rebuilt last year. Starting with last year's Tow Truck, Lego is bringing back Technic models with Technic functions. I hope that more motorized non C+ sets will follow. On the downside they outsourced B models to the community, which is a shame for Lego at this price tag. But I also wanted to get the DeLorean Time Machine for christmas and a stand up paddling board for next summer holidays. Time to save some money for an expensive christmas.

Could we get a video showing off your whole technic collection and another one of all your ucs sets? After seeing your displays shelves over and over ever since they were installed, I kind of wish i could visit it in person. As you show your collection i would be curious to know which ones are your favourite sets and which ones you believe to be the most accurate replicas. Just an Idea :)
Awesome that there is now a "real" swash plate brick. If the upper part will soon be available in a 2/4 blade version...
A man has fallen into the river in LEGO technic!
I like it
It would be cool if lego made made an airbus plane too!!
On my son's one, the pitch of blades is kind of inverted, if I raise the collective then the Valdez pitch becomes flat or else it is negative and would make the copter stuck to ground. Is it same on yours or is my son made a mistake?
Spinning those blades
I was excited for the osprey but well, that happened know I can get this wooooooow
In step 179, we joined the red beam using a technic 1/2 pin in the hole adjacent to where the red axel is inserted (instead of joining it with the red axel, which appears in subsequent steps not to be joined together).
