bottom line: be fast and agile, locate the other robot fast, have a low center of gravity. plus some kind of device to trip the enemy.

i would say the best strategy would be to take a light lego, make it use an infrared light, and as the robots "eyes" are attracted to it, make the rest of the robot able to stand its ground and push it out of the area

Actually the best strategy is to lift the enemy. Basic physics. As the winner had done here, front wheels don't touch floor and rotate backwards, notice it. Your weight will increase thus have more friction with the ground, and enemy's weight will decrease thus having lesser grip. Slow (or not fast) moving, to use well the basic engine torque. Easy win after a very small lift (with good software for movements)

Jeez, that one is so fast, it mostly wins every time.

my tech teacher just showed us this :D

Could someone tell me if it's difficult to add external parts, like an extra sensor for an example. I don't own a lego mindstorm bot myself, but it looks like from what i can tell that you plug external devices into the slots in the main device. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well after about a week or month or so, depending on your intelligence and learning skill it shouldn't seem so hard and complicated.

+woodywong76 They probably program the robot to wait after a certain amount of time,so that way they only have to synchronize the time they press the start (orange) button. At least that's how i would do it.

The operators of both teams(one from each team) push the button to start the program, once the robot is active it waits 5 seconds then the robots fight.

What I mean is can u plz make a sumo bot that uses infrared sensor and the light sensor plz if that possible make a vidio

im taking a class that has these they should and a pusher so when something runs in to it the robot will ram into it and push them out our what ever you would want it to do mabe spin thumbs up if you think so
