LEGO Studio Update | Finishing the Diorama Table!

Ойын-сауық

In this LEGO studio update I finish building the diorama table! The new surface is 19x7 baseplates and will host a giant medieval scene. In addition to finishing off the table I also discuss some other things that need to happen in the studio and add some Star Wars sets to the displays.

Honestly, as important as the LEGO city is, I think a video dedicated to fixing all of the loose ends around the entire studio would be a very satisfying video to watch! I find it so satisfying to see "check lists" getting completed!

one thing you could do with the space under the medieval diorama is build extensive dungeons. You had that level of dungeon below the platform at the back of the old city, before you moved the medieval diorama, you could build something like that using the shelve below, with cells, treasuries and monster's dens down below the island that the medieval stuff sits on. there's lots of story telling potential in that.

With the D&D tower - and the upcoming D&D minifigure packs - I'd definitely evolve the medieval diorama into a full fantasy world; knights, wizards, bandits, vikings, pirates. Monsters and ruins, dark overlords and skeleton armies. Lotta potential with the space. Could have a central village, then with various landscaping and smaller settlements around. Though you could also include some in the main city as party of a historical area / ren fair.

@@juliana22 no doubt about it that I would love to see him do that. But he always mentions doing it with Jose because he needs a second person and artistic direction but since she's fresh off two surgeries, I don't think it will be done anytime soon as it takes time to recover. Will be waiting for it though! Definitely a lot of things need to be done, but doing some of them gradually will prevent him from being overwhelmed and see it as procrasting.

I think you got so excited about the lego city and working on the lego city that you put the other things that need to get done on the back burner and I think you would be happier and have that relief if you were to finish all of it. Look at it this way you are waiting for part for the lego city so why not finish the other projects while you wait.

Coming along nicely with the city and diorama table. The diorama table would be cool as a "History Island" where castles, vikings, and pirates are found on different parts of the island. It could also be visited by tourists from the city if you so pleased. Keep up the great work Jordan!

I am fascinated with everything you are doing with the new LEGO space. It is great. I think all the displays in the shelves would look even better with printed backgrounds. For example the Star Wars displays could have Tatooine, Hoth, or Death Star backgrounds prints and attached to the back of the shelves. If you have loads of extra time and bricks, you can build the backgrounds with bricks! Plus I would suggest some lighting for each shelf to really highlight them! It will look even better than the Lego Store!!

On the dio table, since you shifted the melamine, one side only has a small bit of support. You'll want to add a support leg under each sheet (two under the big one) so it spreads the weight. Wouldn't want to go in one day and see the medieval area on the floor.

Having 3-4 castles on a build surface that size... plus the D&D set and Viking village... will let you put some more distance between the castles... and if you have a second Lion Knights Castle set, there's a MOC (possibly on Rebrickable iirc) that uses two of them, if you feel like rebuilding that set. I'm planning on a medieval display that I'd love to be as big as the medieval space you have... but more realistically it will be about half that size. I need to get a few of the recent medieval village sets and a couple of the Viking village sets before I'm ready to start building, though.
