LEGO Star Wars (GBA) Retrospective | I've Got A Bad Feeling About This...

Ойындар

Connor and myself have been working through the LEGO games for a bit, and we at one point toyed with doing the handhelds- Connor got frustrated immediately, but here I am to remedy one of our mistakes, largely by making my own. LEGO Star Wars’ GBA port is the most interesting uninteresting game ever- LEGO Star Wars, looking from the outside, looks like it should be shovelware- a licensed movie tie in that smashes in brand synergy, but it’s actually a decent little platformer- the GBA version is that promised shovelware. The company that made this version, Griptonite, which sounds like a line of male uh, love replacement devices, was mostly known for shovelware movie adaptations on the GBA, Narnia, A Series of Unfortunate Events, a Digimon Kart Racer, for some reason, and later DS versions of Kung Fu Panda and the like- they also made that weird Iron Man X-O Manowar crossover game on the Saturn, and their pedigree for bargain bin GBA shlock really shines here.

This and the PC are the only versions of the game in which characters have a real time shadow.

i remember emulating these games on my first shitty android phone and thinking they would be like the wii version of the complete saga i played a lot as a kid and i remember being very disappointed in them. the games didn't translate to the gba that well

In hindsight yes the ps2/Xbox version was way better but these ports are interesting as hell.
