Scott Krafft New Luke has the newer style of Lightsaber piece, which is clear and doesn’t have bubbles.

Tip: Don’t insult me

I bought the old one ($110 sealed) a few days before the images came for the newer one. Absolutely no regrets. It’s essentially the same thing, but with updated figures, slight redesigns and a price increase. The only thing I be regretting about not buying the newer one is that newer Vader...like damn that arm printing takes the figure to a while new level! But the newer one is still a very good opportunity for people to snag it who missed out on the one released in 2015.

The lukes are so similar you had them swapped in thr comparidon lmfao. The older had the more clear blade whereas the newer one has the more foggy sort of milky blade

In the ss gameplay trailer the palpatine lighting scene is so funny

I think we should really familiarize ourselves with location remakes like these. It's very akin to the vehicle remakes we've already come to know. The shorter the time between releases, the less amount of "upgrades" they can really do, but LEGO considers every three years a fresh generation of kids, and it would make perfect sense to appeal to them as their the majority in the market.

When putting these side by side there’s actually a decent amount of differences

I had no idea there was an older set. I was so happy when I saw the 2020 one. Return of the Jedi was my favorite Star Wars movie growing up, and I absolutely loved Luke with his green saber. This set was an instant impulse purchase for me when I saw it on the shelves. 10/10 one of my favorite sets of 2020. Certainly my favorite under the 100 dollar mark. It gets hard to compete against the big sets

Says lightning is absent, 10 seconds later , you can find palpatine's lightning under his chair

I think this is a good set but if lego would have just made a fricking ATTE this wave would have been so much better. Maybe we’ll get one in January.

I usually go with the newer versions, but this time I would say that I liked the 2015 set better. Palpatine’s hood on the 2020 version just wasn’t accurate at all. He actually had this neck clasp that held the bottom of his hood together. And, I liked the little detail on the main reactor where Vader hauls down Palpatine. The 2020 version put a lot of detail in the reactor, but I think they overdid it a little there. But in the 2020 version, there are some things I like about it too. The Vader minifigure had neat printing on his arms. I like that. But overall, I like the 2015 one better.

Combine the longer extension and jump feature from the 2015 set, with the 2020 set and you have a really great set!

This set reminds me why I love lego star wars. Iove to nerd out about this scene from episode 6 and I love being able to recreate it with such nice attention to detail. This is a great set for younger audiences that like original trilogy.

I broke the golden lightsaber from Sheev’s Arrest so I’ll take the one with the golden hilt any day of the year

@[MandRproductions] As to which set is more movie accurate, they each swapped what they had inaccurate and what they had true to the movie: in Return of the Jedi, both the catwalk to which Luke jumped and the reactor shaft down which Sidious was thrown are to the throne's right/entrance's left. Also, I agree with you regarding the hood. The old hood fits him perfectly, whereas the new hood not only exposes the neck piece of the cape, but also makes Palpatine's head look taller than it actually is. I hope and pray everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving this year.

I like the older gray version of Palpatine more than the yellowish/orangish-gray color, the new one looks like he has Cheeto dust on it.

I think the old hood works better for Palpatine because he has that hood clasp that keeps the hood ends connected, like how it is in the old hood

This is my dream set. I used to watch this movie on repeat just to see this duel again.

This set is my favourite lego set, which might sound weird, seeing as there are loads of other sets out there, but I really like the design, and the original brought a lot of new things to the table.

I love that he talks about playability and not realism like other review channels. I mean its made for kids to play with and not to look at.

I’m almost certain the old one also had a gold hilt for palpatines lightsaber. Seriously, the first one is the only set I currently own that includes palpatine, and my one has a golden lightsaber hilt

Idk, I might buy it but I'm also a proud owner of the 2002 version and I can't really decide on whether I should keep a more old fashioned Lego imperial base or whether I should renew it a bit.

The 2015 model was one of my first Star Wars sets and this is just nostalgic

I have the older one in a box, but the line at the end of the video "the new set is better in every way" makes me think I'll be leaving it there haha

I was just looking at Worst to 1st 2020 summer and here we go.

If these were next to each other, I wouldn't even be able to tell which one is older

The lightsaver blades now have the bubbles in but back when the 2015 came out it was just a pole

I still have the old final duel set but it was missing pieces when I got it so the extending platform at the beginning can be pulled out, the door is missing a piece, and it was missing the right stuff to make palpatine's lightsaber shoot up.

I remember getting the older set, I use the extra space by the door to have Vader and Luke fighting. The new one lookin pretty dope tho 😂

Can’t wait to get this, it’s my favourite scene from my favourite movie ever. I do wish instead of the smiley smirk on Luke it was a look of pain whilst he is getting zapped by lightning. Either way it’s a huge upgrade from my final Duel sets 1 and 2 back from the yellow ages. P.S I don’t ever remember the 2015 one.

The new hood piece works on some characters while others no. Hopefully the new one isn’t too wide spread and still have the older one.

I prefer the stiff capes so much more because the new ones are so hard to get straight and aren't as good for display

on the 2020 model you had the light blue pieces on the sides next to emperor Palpatine down rather than up which is what its supposed to look like just giving a heads up, nothing to bad though.

The main reason I don't like the newer hood being on Palpatine is that, if you look at the movie(s), his hood is much closer to the look of the original hood. Also, it's what they have in the Holiday Special.

I'm not upgrading. And I like my extra stickers in the tube. And I like my Emperor better. Only things I'm missing from new set: side screens next to throne, outer tube stickers, arm printing on Vader. I'm fine with what I have for $53 vs $100

Hope they do the death Star to that has two rooms the other one is the final deal and the other one at the bottom is where they have the spaceships

On the edge because of the price, If I ever find it for $75 or less I'll definitely buy it.
